This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

This may be my last review of the SN regulars available around here. Bomber into snifter glass, deep copper color with light tan head. Aroma of somewhat light hops (earthy, floral, some fruit) for an IPA, and a faint spiciness. Taste came in stronger with pine/citrus hop bitterness balanced with caramel malt sweetness. Medium body, low carbonation, smooth, creamy yet crisp with a clean finish yielding only minimal lingering bitterness. Maybe not as good as its northern brother but pretty darn good. More subtle yet very much there.

Draught at Bjergtrolden. Light hazy orangey with a beige head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (citrusy, flowery, piney). Flavor medium sweet, heavy bitter, medium spicy. Medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A- Pours an orangey hue with a 1 finger head that fades fairly quickly. S- Most grainy, malt notes with hints of piney hops. T- Sweet, grainy, caramel and light fruit notes lead into a strong bitter, piney hop taste. M- Medium bodied, quite a bit of caronation. D- Very drinkable on a warm summer day.

2014 Hop 291. Aroma is pleasant with blueberry notes. Appearance is gold with a long lasting thick head. Excellent lacing. Hop flavor is full of pepper notes and blueberries. Malt is present just enough to balance. A moderate hop bitterness and a slight grassiness lingers on the end. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation with medium dry finish. Overall, a great single hop harvest beer. I love the pleasant blueberry aroma. It is always nice to get a taste of experimental hops.

Fad: Orange klar øl med et fint skumhoved. Duft af let citrus og en smule tropisk frugt. God mundfylde og bitterhed. I det hele taget en behagelig og meget drikbar øl.

Bottled. Pours clear amber with an average sized, fair lacing, off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, lemon zest, peach, flowers, caramel and pine. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and solid bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and average carb. An excellent IPA.

Pours mid amber to burnt orange in colour, with a steady retained light ivory head. A complex aroma of citrus, stone fruit and pineapple, reminiscent of the NZ hops, supported with a light caramalt/crystal warmth that slots in behind the hop finish well. Very enjoyable.

Bottle from StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Label states Harvest 2013. If that makes any difference? Clear amber colour. Thin, lasting, white head. Grassy, skunky, light, ginger spiciness. Taste is grainy sweet. Fairly gentle bitterness follows up. Palate has a little oiliness. Light, bitter finish. Very drinkable.

P: A vivacious copper body with a bountiful creamy off white ice cream float head. Lace spread across the edges like a Victoria Secret catalog. S: Citrus soap, cilantro stems, cedar chips, orange oil, lime leaves, coriander and black pepper. Sweet toasted caramel, pine, honey and hibiscus. T/M: First sip is muted and thin with not much really standing out. Citrus hops begin to arrive and are accompanied by pilsner malt, herbal and floral hop present. The caramel base is not as sweet as the nose but the toasted aspect comes through. Delicate spices dance in the thin semi watered down body. Finish is dry and showcases the bitterness if the hops with lemon zest and strong brewed tea tannin. O: A super fresh nice drinkable ale that delivers what it advertises. The mouthfeel is strange but the flavor is on point. I remember enjoying the Northern Hemisphere better.

Pours in light hazy pale body with good creamy head. Aroma is dark fruits, citrus, ananas and somehow spicy and earthy. Taste is light sweet with overwhelming long lasting bitterness. Well balanced towards the bitterness. Body is full with low carbonation.
