COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week’s time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

[from notes] Appearance: clear amber in color with an ample multi-density head that lasts and leaves plenty of lacing on glass. Smell: earthy and floral hop aroma with a significant medium toasted malt component. 6.7% ABV is evident. Taste: immediate hop hit; hoppy throughout but with a detectable malt backbone in mid-taste. Turns more piney, grapefruity and bitter in the finish. Unique hop profile: must be the fresh NZ hops. Mouthfeel: medium body and carbonation. Crisp throughout with very mild bite up front and a semi-dry finish. Overall: Very good, certainly, but not up with the Northern Hemisphere version.

The aroma is great, sweet dark fruit, brown sugar, maple syrup, has Belgian strong ale smell. A nice foamy head. The taste is actually kind of thin, really easy to drink though, basically a slightly jacked up session IPA with a great aroma.

From a bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a creamy thick foam head, laces well, floral aroma, fruit flavours with a slightly tart finish, full bodied with a resin finish. Great beer.

Draught at The Euston Tap, London on 4 Aug 2012. Poured a clear, deep amber, with a dense off white head. Aroma of big floral hops, citrus and slight herbal notes. Juicy fruit flavours, with some candy sugar and peppery hop. Finish was tinned fruit, brown sugar and resin.

Just had a second go with this lovely beer after 2013 version of this. Just as good as first one. This IPA has been set as a very good standard of IPA in my tasting notes. Pleasant lingering of citrusy and hoppy with a gentle kick at the first sip. Gotta love this bottle anytime of year over a fine tune!

Pours a rich amber colour with delicate aromatic hops and roasted malts. Like the aroma, the hop bitterness is very delicate and has a tropical fruit lingering flavour. On the palate it is medium bodied with a smooth and delicate lingering bitter finish. Very nice!

Great fresh beer with really fresh hops. Really nice floral aroma and nice blend of malts. I think I tasted a bit of spice as well.
