Pours a gorgeous deep amber-orange color propping up a huge frothy and thick white head. Superb foam retention throughout the entire glass with thick concentric rings of lacing marking each and every sip. Moderately assertive aromas of predominantly Noble hops with pleasant notes of spice, herb, freshly cut hay, mint leaves, earth and a touch of citrus are noted. Some faint wiffs of caramel, toffee and toasted malt are barely detected in the background. Mouthfeel was as expected for a 6.7% abv APA. A bit on the lighter side, but modertaely full, smooth and resiny. Flavor profile showcases the beautiful hop construction of this beer more assertively than the nose. Begins with a quick introduction of some sweet caramel candies, toffee and malt cereal. The hops then quickly take over with upfront crisp, resiny spice, pine, herb and citrus flavors. Finish shows off a firm, lasting bitterness. Other than the hop nose being a tad tamer than I expected everything else about this beer was very enjoyable and unique. well woth seeking out.

The Southern Hemisphere Harvest comes overloaded with CO2, which both reminds of a bad pub keg draught and hides the flavor.
Yet, if you let this beer sweat and warm up thus letting the CO2 escape, the great flavor steps out.
Once out, the flavor dances on the tongue and gets close to Stone Ruination IPA.

Nov 28, 2008 Very pleasant aroma, piney, deep, almost soapy. This is quite a bitter beer. I mean there is a nice light sweet body, little bit nutty, caramel. But for the most part, some very bitter, piney, resinous flavors persist.

Nov 20, 2008 draft poured at papago... hazed copper color capped by a creamy tan head. loads of foamy lacing are left on the glass as this one disappears. this smells green... yup, green. also, musty, dirty, earthy, grass, faint citrus, resin and caramel. the flavor is really leafy and dry mixed with touches of caramel, earth and pine. there’s a mild bitterness on the finish but, other than that the finish kinda dies off. medium body. mineral/gritty mouth feel, creamy-ish texture and a parching/dehydrating quality which earns a bonus from me....

Nov 18, 2008 On tap @ the HobNob in Brevard, NC. Best Sierra beer to date. Insanely drinkable IPA. Pours a fller copper color. Hops are piney somewhat resiny sticky. Carmel mallts balance thing out nicely but hops still forcibly make their presence known. Loved this beer

Nov 2, 2008 24oz bottle pours a dark orange amber with an large, lasting white head. Aromas are pretty weak, some citrus, some grass and pine, but mostly I get honey. Flavors are ....ok, Hops, malt, citrus, Its a balanced beer with a decent palate. Nothing special for me perhaps I will have to try it sooner next year. Chances are it has faded quite a bit.
