COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

2009 Bottle. Bright orange red with a dark white foam that lingers long and leaves sticky thick lacing. Aroma is spicy herbal wet hops, lots of caramel, crystal malt. Taste is a nice fresh hoppiness, not overly bitter but a great herbal, pine, spicy hoppiness, touch of orange citrus and fruit with toffee and caramel malts.

Very hoppy aroma, almost smells like a bag of weed! Pours clear bronze with an almost non-existent head. Taste is strong hops and bitter, and a little bit coppery. Fizzy but kind of dry.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip, the beer is a clear reddish amber with a thin head, the aroma is pretty bland with not much more than citrus coming through, it is overly hopped making the aroma being bland so much more the mystery. Not a beer for me...

Appearance: Clear amber body with a creamy tan head.

Sampled at TWCP Beer Fest 2013. It poured a clear dark orange color with a white head. The aroma was of grassy hops, pine, fruity hops and caramely malts. The taste was hoppy and bitter with a lot of grassy notes, pine and caramel. The finish was dry and bitter with a large amount of grassy hops and pine. Very good.

Aroma: Grassy with a distinct note of burning rubber. Appearance: Copper with a cream colored head. Flavor: Nuts, toast and caramel with medium-high hop bitterness. Palate: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall: Fortunately this beer tasted much better than it’s odd aroma. But I would skip this IPA next time I come across it.

Poured into a pint glass out of a 24oz bottle. Pours a clear deep copper with a two finger white billowy head. Amazing head retention that sticks around for a long time and when it does fade, there is abundant lacing on the sides of the glass. A really amazing hop aroma that just explodes with citrus and earth. There is a definite dank component as well along with pine resin. I can detect a bit of a toasty backbone but hops really rule and rightly so. A definite wet-hopped character. Like other wet-hopped beers I have had, the depth of the aroma doesn’t quite carry over into the flavor. There is still an extremely resiny character with a bit of tropical fruit but it is not on the same level as the aroma and the dankness is almost non-existant. Some more maltyness shows up along with a touch of alcohol along with a mild sweetness. Bitterness is on the high side and lingers for a long time. Overall, a very impressive beer, especially in the aroma. While the flavor falls a bit short, this is quite enjoyable and one I am glad I picked up.
