TINOZACCA (146), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2005 This is an excellent beer. Very good color, very nice head. The aroma is strong of roasted hops, and malt, with some chocolate, and maybe spice. The beer feels very good on the palate, and goes down very smooth. The flavor is full of roasted hops and malt. With a nice bitter and semi-sweet aftertaste. A very good beer, and a very nice surprise.
wyzzywyz22 (294), Wirral, Merseyside, England Aug 19, 2008 Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlinton. Poured a black colour with a fair sized tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, chocolate and bubblegum. Flavour had more of the same with burnt malt coffee and raisin notes which linger into a slightly bitter finish. Enjoyed this ajm (304), USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottle from Papago. It’s not that I didn’t like this beer, it’s just that this is kind of what I expect from a porter. At room temperature, a disappearing light tan head and black body. Roasty and charcoaled with light milk chocolate. A great finish too. WickerBrew (253), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2008 While this isnt as style defining as thier pale ale is, this is very very good. WAY better than the porter. Smooth and roasted, this goes down very easy considoring the size. DrDavid (116), , Vermont, USA Aug 3, 2008 (Bottle). Bitter chocolate aroma. Black pour with a large tan head. Medium body, bittersweet malt flavor, pleasant finish. Satisfying, although not particularly complex. Pawola22 (65), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 19, 2008 12 oz bottle. The aroma was a definite roasty chocolate. Had some coffee notes as well. The appearance was dark and smooth, but it wasn’t as inviting as some stouts...pretty average looking. The flavor was really traditional with the chocolate, malt, and pronounced roast, but it really was too bitter. The palate was light and kinda creamy with a little watered down feel. Overall it was just average, but way too bitter for a watery stout.
