3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s been years since I tried this brew, and I don’t recall being that impressed. I have to say, either my palate or the recipe has changed ... and I am guessing my palate. Nice maltiness in the aroma and some rainy plums. Flavor is robust with a touch of roasted acridity at the end. Overall a very solid stout.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours black with deep ruby mahogany edges and a large tan head. Smells roasty with hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is bitter from both roasted malt and hops, subtle hints of coffee and a pinch of bittersweet cocoa. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Sierra Nevada Stout finishes with a lingering bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Unique. Dark brown pour with very thick cream color head. A dark fruit taste hits you first, then a toasty caramel taste to finish. Very cool. One thing I would change is the thickness. Its a little thin for a stout.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, angenehm cremig, schokoladig, erdig.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Appearance is jet black, not much head at all produced, just a few off-white bubbles around the side. Aroma- chocolatey, milky, creamy, roasty hints, dark malts. Taste- roasty, toasty malts, hints of burnt toast, some coffee, milky chocolate, smooth, fairly full mouthfeel, lingering bitterness. Hint of liquorice in the finish, and a bit more chocolate comes through as it warms. Very nice.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very fine stout, with a nice thin tan head.
Oily and fruity texture, the cascadian character
matched with dextrinic malt is fantastic.
In my opinion little out of style but very interesting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 fl. oz bottle. Black in the glass, nearly no head. Dark berries and coffie on the nose. Starts sweet herb, coffie and dark chocolate, hints of licorice. Later malt and a little bit chemical in the background. Dry ending. I enjoyed it.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Black body with large stable bubbly tan head. Creamy and biscuit malts, some toffee, some licorice. Resin and foresty hops. Very nice at this abv. Soft malt start but rich bitterness to follow given the active carbonation and fatty malt base. Yeast isn?t too clean either which I really like. Very good aftertaste, layering and bitter.
