Pours a dark black brown with a creamy brown head. Aroma is of malt and chocolate. Very creamy on the palate, the flavor is true stout - dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a hint of molasses. Finishes very smooth, not bitter, but a touch of hops to finish slightly dry. An excellent stout. Pairs well with corn beef on pumpernickel and horseradish. Enjoy!

Bottle from Rehill’s of Jesmond. Pours deep mahogany with a thin cream head. Cocoa aroma. The taste is moderate spice with nice chocolate malt. High carbonation for a stout and a touch thin bodied.

12 ounce bottle. Barely translucent black brown color topped by a large rocky beige head. Roasted malt nose. Flavor is more roasted malt with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Slightly sweet with a touch of burnt caramel in the middle. Spicy hops in the finish. Nicely balanced and a nice cross between a sweet and dry stout. A classic American Stout.

Bottle from Citysuper at home. Thick black pour with thin creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, slightly pine bitter. Taste is deeply roasted - coffee and chocolate - but also satisfyingly bitter. Creamy palate. Really surprisingly good.

Bottle version. Roasted malt, coca, mild dry fruits and herbal hops, bitter coffee finish. Pretty smooth classic stout, probably a good quality benchmark.
