Pours a dark black brown with a creamy brown head. Aroma is of malt and chocolate. Very creamy on the palate, the flavor is true stout - dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a hint of molasses. Finishes very smooth, not bitter, but a touch of hops to finish slightly dry. An excellent stout. Pairs well with corn beef on pumpernickel and horseradish. Enjoy!

350ml bottle from Pivovarský klub. Light black or dark brown, creamy tan head, leaves much lacing. Dry aroma with dark chocolate, roasted malt, hops. Creamy mouthfeel, mildly carbonated, full body. The taste is mildly bitter, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, roasted malt, roasted coffee beans, sweet licorice. Dry finish.

As a lot of people have already commented, this is a solid beer. All components are well-balanced: roasted malts vs aromatic hop aromas, and a coffee and chocolate sweetness balanced out by a decent bitterness in the finish. I also get cola and some peat-like flavours. Excellent and a good benchmark for the style

Colore nero con schiuma beige persistente. Buon aroma di caffè e malto tostato. Al palato caffè, note poco amare, buon equilibrio e sapori non eccessivi. Media carbonazione. Buona stout.

On tap at Mills River. Can’t believe I haven’t tried this until now. Super solid- would expect nothing less from SN. Chocolate, coffee, roasty, sweet, and not an overly heavy mouthfeel. Actually thought the porter had more depth to it, but will have to try them side by side. Decent, not outstanding.

Corpo medio-leggero, mediamente carbonata.

Almost black cola colored beer with a bit beige long lasting medium head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, smoke, roasted malts, some fruitiness, almost vinous tones, cherries. Nice! Taste falls a bit behind, roasted malts, caramel sweetness, bread, a slight hint of ashtray. Mouthfeel medium and co2 a bit high. Finishes with some bitterness, smooth. Quite good... actually really good. More for me please. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

35cl bottle at Beach Club, Oslo. Pours clear, close to black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with notes of chocolate, malt, dark fruits and hints of herbs and caramel. Medium sweet with nice roasty aromas and a pleasantly bitter finish. Nice one!
