Bottle. Black color with a pale brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, hops and light fruitiness. The taste if roasted/burned and hoppy with notes of coffee, chocolate, berries, licorice and some sourish notes. Dry and creamy mouthfeel.

33 cl bottle from the renewed beeshop in Como. Deep black beer with a creamy tan thick head. It actually represents a wonderful example of the style, I’d say medium-high level. A maltry sweet nose, enriched with red fruits notes and liquorice hints in a bitter coffe-like frame. Full body and pleasant carbonation actually match with a roasty bitterness and sweet haloes. Right level of dryness.

Deep amber color, almost black with a very nice, thick tan/brown head. Rich, roasted aroma with a hint of chocolate. Robust and bitter taste with a hoppy bite to it.

Pours black with a slight off white head. Aroma is all roasted coffee. Medium body with dry lingering bitterness. Simple and straightforward.

Pours a pitch black with a medium mocha head that leaves webs of lacing. Aroma is robust - hoppy, alcohol, dark roasts, coffee. Taste is the same with a slightly bitter finish. Nicely balanced and enjoyable stout.

I drank a fair amount of craft beer in the mid-1990’s...then (like a lot of people) I stopped drinking it for a few years, and then started again in the early 2000s. And between these two periods of craft beer growth, there seems to be a marked difference in the types of beers that are popular. This beer strikes me as one that would’ve been exotic in the first craft beer explosion, but seems downright boring to me in the second (and current) expansion. Pours a thin dark brown. Aroma is very faint, with a hint of smoke and a touch of roastiness. Flavor offers a bit of roastiness, but is also extremely mild. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. This is not a beer to get real worked up about. I would weakly recommend this beer. I bought this bottle at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee.
