The flavor was thin but quite refreshing and was definitely not difficult to pound back. I enjoyed it top to bottom, but in truth this beer would only be memorable if drank of a beautiful summer day. kuphish (158), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle. Poured a straw yellow body with a frothy, white, 1" head. None of the typical yeast clouds of SN beers...appears to be filtered and force carbed. Pale malt aromas are accompanied by herbal, spicy, grassy hops. A balanced lager tending toward the hoppier side. Light body with lively carbonation and a clean, moderately bitter finish. Overall a very refreshing summertime lager. Subtly delicious. mbgrayson (142), Anaconda, Montana, USA

Not a bland lager by any stretch, but I don’t like it that much. Won’t buy this one again. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2009 Not a bad lager, but its does nothing outstanding or "Premium." This isn’t one of Sierra Nevada’s best, but to be their lager, it isn’t bad at all. They are not fit for human consumption, and I would feel bad for cattle if it were given to them. With that said, SN seemed to try to make the best pilsner they could with their equipment and they do get many of the technical aspects right. This brew is not decoction mashed and it shows. It is also filtered which elminates even more of the flavor. It also does taste like they lagered it for a period of time. They claim "extended", but that might mean, and tastes like, about 2 weeks. That’s a long time for a larger brewer but it’s not enough for a real lager. It also does not taste like pilnser malt. They also appear to have used low carbon water which gives it the righf feel of a true czech beer. So in the end it tastes like someone tried to make a lager beer with ale equipment and then they put some love into by lagering it longer than 99% of the guys out there. Not bad, but they could do much better! BroSpud (595), , Massachusetts, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 12, 2009 Against the heavy and rich beers of the LA Craft Beer Fest, this one didn’t stand up at all. Thin mouthfeel, lacking in any substantial flavor profile or body, it was a real disappointment. I wonder if I’d feel differently if I tried it on its own.
Sampled at LA Craft Beer Fest 2009.
