Draft at Capital Ale House. Medium gold, decent head. Grainy aroma with a spice note. Initial flavor of anise, followed by grain, hay, and spice. Anise on the finish. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, golden color with a medium thick, creamy white head. Aroma of some kind of earthiness. Taste is of malts and yeast, kind of like bread but not as much as a Belgian. The hops taste much more earthy/rooty in this as opposed to flowery. Iím not a fan of lagers in general, but this one impressed me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Lovely pour with a thick white head leaving intricate Brussels lace. Outstanding golden in color. Well-balanced hops with substantial body for such a light appearing ale. Bolus of wheat and bread in the final wave of flavor. A very satisfying lager.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Average golden lager by appearance, but this beer was damn drinkable. Appearance was a little sickly and pale, the head and aroma were average. The taste was very crisp and thirst-quenching and the palate plesently tangy. Nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a great summer beer. Light and refreshing. Not too much aroma, other than slight hop and malt. Tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Crystal clear light amber-yellow body. The head is a pleasant rocky white pillow. The aroma is hops, grass and some lemony citrus. Quite bitter as the aroma would tell you, some sweetness in the middle, but mainly it is hoppy. Very non-fruity with a clean bitter palate. The saaz lend some grassy/metallic notes, especially right after the swallow. Medium body with a lively bit of carbonation. A decent but not outstanding beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Somewhat biscuity malt, great saazy snap, great finish, great when warm (absolutely no sugariness) - a delightful summer lager. Aroma a bit subdued (a little diacetyl, a little sour grass/hay), but the flavor makes up for it

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught. Refreshing, grapefruit, citrus aroma. Clear gold body with some visible carbonation and a small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing head. Very good lace. Zingy initial mouthfeel with a hint of diacetyl. Wonderful doughy, bready finish, like some of the unpasteurized beers of Germany. Faint hoppiness which is good for summer quaffing. Very drinkable. Reminds me a little of the Bells two hearted, but the SNS is not as sweet. Some faint banana notes. A good refreshing summer beer with enough flavor to make it interesting. Would definitely drink a 6 of this on a hot day. Canít do that with SNPA.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Nice clear golden pour, with a somewhat lasting white head. Initial pils aroma immediately turns me off. Taste is tolerable, I guess. Some sprucey hops, mild citrus, distracting bitterness, slightly sour, barely discernable malt presence. I hate this style. I figured SN would have chosen a wheat or hefe for their summer beer. If youíre a big fan of the style, I say go for it... if not, stay away.
