Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Backlog Night! 2009 Vintage?!?! I hope no one is cellaring this! The Head on this beer is remarkably loose and the beer pours a clear golden color. The aroma is mildly fruity but faint with a few floral notes. Thus far we’re 0 for 2 but I really like the flavor on this, the beer is very crisp and very bitter with some nice complimentary fruity and citrusy flavors; this mixed with the bitterness provides us with that old familiar soapiness, but overall this stuff is pretty tasty for what it is.

Enjoyed with Dancin’ Paul, our New Beer Pimp Brian, Uncles Tom and Steve, the deputy Dawg of Draugh Celticbrew, and the Alpha Acid of Ales Drbayern. Poured a clear yellow with a good head. The taste was light, with a hint of lemon. I didn’t get a real aftertaste. It would be a good lawnmower beer!

Nothing all that special, but very pleasant to drink on a hot summer day. I usually don’t like lagers as much, but I did enjoy this quite a bit.

Pours pale gold with a 3+ finger foamy white head that has good retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma is grass, straw, grain, lager yeast and some mild herbal notes. Flavor is lager yeast, french bread crust, grass, old straw, a little metal and just a hint of pine. Finish is somewhat bitter and fairly heavy on the lager yeast. Palate is thin to medium thin and a little slippery on entry but dry and clean on the finish, a little sticky on the lips. Overall, a good summer, burgers and brats type brew but nothing too interesting.

A nice pilsner. Easy drinking, but only suitable to summer days and preferably the beach. Both a huge plus and a huge minus, depending on the situation. Not quite as fantastic as the PA pilsners, but worthy of your attention.

Golden pour. Cereal aromas, fruity pebbles, berry slight woodsy corn quality to the smell. Crisper refresher to taste with a touch of fruit and sweetness but a distant earthy pine aura. A quencher for the summertime and decent enough.

Bottle. Fruity malt aroma. Light golden body, white head. Distinctive flavor, surprisingly assertive, with hoppy bitterness along with chewy malts. Full finish.

Bottle. Purs a clear, pale yellow with a one-finger, decently fluffy white head. Mild carbonation. Not great retention or lacing. Aroma is lemongrass, lemon peel, light floral hops. Taste is not unlike a mild pilsner. Great Saaz hops balancing creating sort of a dry, spicy edge to the beer. I actually like this and given that is supposed to be a lighter, summertime beer to enjoy in the heat, this dead on.
