Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Beginning Gravity: 11.8 Plato
Finishing Hops: Saaz
Ending Gravity: 2.7 Plato
Malts: Two-row Pale, Dextrin Malt, Munich

Candy orange body with fast-receding head. Spicy and hopy nose. Prickly mouthfeel. Taste of hops, herbs and citrus. Very crisp. Another good Sierra Nevada. Perhaps a bit watery and soft, but nice nonetheless.

12 oz bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a clear gold color with a thin white head. The aroma was citrus and grain. The flavor was about the same. This is just an average beer for Sierra Nevada. I wouldn’t recommend buying many of these. The SN IPAs are much better and more refreshing.

Crushed with Jakebra while watching Max Payne. They go well together. Interesting profile, but neither goes anywhere productive and end up leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

Slightly surprised to find this at my local supermarket in the depths of winter. Positive prior experience of Sierra Nevada’s offerings, and a general desperation for sunlight, encouraged me to indulge at an inappropriate time of year... Smells great, and looks good until the head dissipates. Would love to try it on draught as I suspect this would be addressed. Nonetheless, tastes good if overly sweet and rewards patience with a reasonable aftertaste. I’m not going to make up a list of fruit which it vaguely resembles - this is beer, worth a crack on a summer’s day.

Bottle. Pours golden with white head. Aroma is light and sweet, with notes of fruit and light hops. Flavor is light as well with lemon and hop notes.

Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Lightish amber colour with a medium sized dissipating head. The aroma was vaguely matty, but couldn’t detect a massive amount going on . Crisp, grassyish flavour with muted hop and citrus tones. A better than average lager, but not really for me. Was expecting a bit more.

2005 bottle, drank it 2006. Going off memory for this one, I forgot to write it down. Poured gold with soft white head. Lemon was the first smell to hit my nose, followed by a citric floral aroma. Tasted like a german lager with some lemon and some spice. Very smooth and highly drinkable. Wished I had more.
