Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Pours a straw colour. Not really any aroma. Some flavour but not much, but still rather decent for a lager. I’m just not a lager man.

Golden clear body with okay head. Smell is too sweet and too little hopped, although the ingredients seem of good quality, the pale malts don’t do much and there is a white sugar style at the start of the smell. Very light bitterness, perhaps refined but not appealing. Aftertaste is well bittered though, and actually really nice. This saved the beer from being a bit too sweet and passable. It;s okay overall.

Bottle @ Home. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of light malt, grain, grass. Flavor is malt, grain, grass, flowers. Medium body, lively carbonation, light bitter finish. 021014

Light yellow. Carbonation you can see, it’s still bubbling a couple minutes after the pour. Smell is very mild. Kinda goes from light to heavy-ish, a little more bitter than I’d like. Not a fan.

From Q Club. Completely clear straw-light greyish yellow with almost no head or carbonation - very still. Smells of corn, lightly spiced malt. Tastes of mild hop, corn, slight spice and soapiness. Body is medium, a small amount of carbonation and slickness. Only slightly better than your typical mass market lager. Expected a bit more from Sierra Nevada!

2014 bottle from QClub at home. Very light (too light) straw yellow pour. Aroma is slightly hoppier than a Tsingtao or similar. Taste is unremarkable - again, slightly slightly hoppier than a macrolager. Boring - disappointed.

Clear pale gold with a soapy head. Floral, slightly skunky aroma, maybe a little grapey. Taste is sweet malt, fruit, grain. It’s really not a favourite.

Clear, pale yellow. Airy white head. Light malty aroma with slight hint of butter. Hoppy, fruity flavour with herbal notes and smooth, light bitter finish.

At a tasting, thanks zvsn, smallish head, quite clear and a touch light yellow colour, malty perfumy aroma with a touch of candy, honey fruity flavour, lively carbonation, light to meduim bitterness. Drinkable.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks zvsn. 2014 bottle. Clear gold, white head. Crispy aroma, malty with a little fruit. Bitter and malty taste with sweet undertones, light body and the slightest alcoholic aftertaste.
