Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Bittering Hops: Perle & Saaz
Beginning Gravity: 11.8 Plato
Finishing Hops: Saaz
Ending Gravity: 2.7 Plato
Malts: Two-row Pale, Dextrin Malt, Munich
Yeast: Lager Yeast (bottom fermenting)

Maybe it’s due to years of drinking macro brews, but I fail to find anything exciting about this beer. While not as watered down and corny as a pale lager, there isn’t much to impress. Nice and fizzy on the tongue and a nice distraction from the Kolsch-wannabes that tend to be passed about as summer beers.

Not much to say about this. Looks like a macro. Smells like a macro. Almost tastes like one with some "summer crispness" I’d pass on this unless you find a single bottle to try.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a lacy white head. Lightly sweet aroma with a touch of floral hops over the malt. Medium body and carbonation. A bit unusual for a style that is usually light bodied and watery. Lightly sweet taste with some fruit and honey. The finish is more flowery than crisp - I’d like it better the other way around. Not a terrible beer, but way short of fabulous.

Pours a mid-golden. Foamy white head. Aroma is pretty hoppy. Flavor is also pretty hoppy. Little bitter, not bad.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours pale yellow with a nice white head, good lace. Smells a bit subdued, light malty. Tastes grainy malty and hay like, can’t tell if the hay flavor is from the hops or what. Thin body, good carbonation.

Summer Beer tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. Nice light hops, crisp and refreshing. Some slight corn and spices. Very nice beer.

Had this at the Brickskeller Sierra Nevada tasting. Pours a bright gold filtered look with a medium big head that was retained for quite a while. The aroma was of light hops and barley. The flavor was of pale malt, a bit of bread, a tangy flair, with a light hop proflie. Overall, a refreshing summer choice.
