Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Beginning Gravity: 11.8 Plato
Finishing Hops: Saaz
Ending Gravity: 2.7 Plato
Malts: Two-row Pale, Dextrin Malt, Munich
Yeast: Lager Yeast (bottom fermenting)

Bottle 2008. Aroma Clean and lemony. Straw color with slightest bit of haze and white head. Slight medicinal taste with saaz hops evident. Smooth and refreshing but I don’t really care for it.

poured into pint glass, pours a very light orange almost yellow and very thin quickly fading white head. the smell is mostly hops maybe corn not sure though. This is a pretty light beer, there isn’t a whole lot of flavor here that stands out compared to the other Sierra Nevada brews. Perhaps one of my least favorite of the brewery.

Nice and clean sparkling puor. Mostly malt with a nice hop finish. Decent palate. Fine lawn mower beer. Hard water warsteiner.

Bottle into Lager glass. Pours a rich, white-headed sun yellow. Aroma gives me some light floral and citrusy hoppiness, grains and a louch of malts. Flavor is basically the aroma, but a shade more bitter. Finishes with a mostly clean bite, although it kind of stuck on the palate a bit odd. Overall, a passable beer. Not too bad for just sitting around drinking, although the cost for a micro makes me expect something a bit more than one would get from a cheaper macro.

2008 Bottle - Pours a translucent yellow with a slight white head, aroma of fresh grain and hops, taste is way more bitter than I expected (like an american heineken with more character), pleasant balance of hop and grain, indeed a great summer ale...

Bottle. Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. The aroma is malts and a mild sweetness. The flavor is pretty basic; some smooth malts with a carbonated body, a bit of hops and bitterness. Not bad at all. Easygoing for sure.

Golden pour with a foamy head. Smells of malt and a bit of hops. Kind of a bitter taste with balanced malt, very smooth and light bodied. Seems like a good session beer when it’s too hot for high gravity beers.
