brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA May 4, 2008 well, I tried hard to rank this as a lager against other lagers, but still there’s not much to recommend here. not bad as far as lagers go, but nothing I would drink regularly. greedycheater (80), Oklahoma, USA May 3, 2008 Clear golden yellow with sustaining white head. Healthy aroma of freshly mown grass with some peach tones - what I expect from Sierra. Smooth refreshing start that is true to a lager. The finish is crisp, dry, and hoppy, more like an IPA, or wheat beer. bwbeall812 (27), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA May 1, 2008 Tap at local restaurant. Pours golden with light quickly diminishing head. Slightly skunky with citrus lemons on the nose. Very surprised by the bitterness of this summer lager. The bittering hops are definately not shy. Overall a great beer to enjoy during the hot months of the year. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA Apr 30, 2008 "2008" bottle: smells like egg whites, ... this is like a musty macro from Japan--WTF, mate!!! kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Apr 30, 2008 Pours light amber golden, 1 inch head that doesn’t last. Good lacing. Aroma of dirty socks, and a little skunked malt. Tastes like bland malt and faint, bitter hops. Heavy finish. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 30, 2008 12 oz bottle labeled 2008. Poured a clear very light straw with a big course head that fell rapidly. Aroma of light malt grains with a touch of floral spicey hops. Spicey fruity hops dominate taste with some cereal grain and malt sweetness to back up. Citrusy slightly bitter light dry finish. Very nice clean lager. Bhef25 (35), USA Apr 29, 2008 This beer is overrated. I was sadly mistook by the name of summerfest. More like bitterfest. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Apr 28, 2008 NICE clean tastes in this well flavored lager beer. the beer is smooth and well packed with honest beer flavor. good malt flavor slightly sweet and yeasty with real good body. it stands in the middle of a strongish pilsner spiced hopped brew. new label in this 2008 vintage and i am quite impressed even for sierra nevada. i don’t think you can do much more in a lager. at 5% I AM hard pressed to think of better true flavor in a lager. just tastes like a golden brew heavier in taste than most summers. just strainght up beer no gimmicky flavors. made for the beer drinker to enjoy thanks s/n!
