12 oz bottle. Pours golden yellow with thin head. Aroma is thin sweet lager malt. Taste is clean crisp light dry malt with earthy, piney hop notes. Overall a pretty mild lager with a nice hoppy finish. You could do worse for a summer lager.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle as “Summerfest 2013” bought at CitySuper in Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Clear light golden orange colour; One-quarter finger head and crumpety white foam which lasted for 40 seconds; Small sticky lacing with notable soft carbonation; Aroma of full malt, with strong lemon, grapefruit, lime and light grass; Nice, light sweet taste of full malt, with strong lemon and lime, light sharp grapefruit, light yeast, light liquorices, and sharp grassy hops; Medium body, slick palate; Taste profile is a stepped-up Premium Lager. Full malt taste is lighter, not as bready as other macros, and lemony lime taste is very prominent. Grapefruit is comparatively low key, not dull, but definitely not in its typical IPA role, more like a good touch here; Hoppiness is manifested in lemon lime as explained, plus very distinctive and decently tasted grassy hops. Bitterness is low-key like the grapefruit. The lingering finish is quite okay; Quite dry after taste, very lemony and easy to mouth.
Comment: This is a decently made Premium Lager with some playful tinkering of our senses. As With other SN beers, this is very hopped-up, with focus being shifted to strong lemony and distinctive hop taste, making this one a definite stand out from the rest. Light and pretty refreshing, this is definitely a nice one for the Summer. Recommended.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I poured a 12oz can into a lager glass. It was canned on May 27 and cost $2.50 ($0.21 per ounce).
Appearance: Bright pale yellow hue. Mostly clear but slightly hazy. Forms a small, bright white, foamy head which mostly dissipates and leaves trace lacing.
Smell: Pretty standard lager aroma with hints of pale maltiness.
Taste: Despite the name, there’s nothing particularly summer-y about Sierra Nevada Summerfest. There’s no added spices or anything and the body isn’t especially light just to make it drinkable. This is a by-the-book lager and it works because it of that approach. That’s not to say the palette is boring or generic, it’s actually a genuinely interesting lager.
There’s notable pale, slightly starchy malt character here right from the start. A hint of lemon rind seems to be found in here somewhere, though I would not describe this as citrusy. They’ve opted mostly for spicy, dry European hops which impart a tad more bitterness than your average pale lager, but are mild enough to keep the beer balanced. A hint of additional sweetness as it goes down, but nothing that really lingers, making for a pretty clean finish.
Drinkability: Since Sierra Nevada Summerfest is a "standard" lager as far as technicalities go, it’s no surprise it also drinks like one as well. The mouthfeel is crisp, but not spastically carbonated. It’s refreshing while in the mouth and mild enough that drinkers of any experience levels can appreciate it. At only 5% ABV it blurs the line between what is and isn’t sessionable, though I don’t think anyone would have any trouble with at least two of these at a time.
