COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 Poured from 12 oz bottle into schooner glass. Appearance: pours a thick, sudsy white head that gradually falls with some mild lacing. Color is slighty hazy gold with abundant streaming carbonation. Aroma: plenty of white bread malt, some sweetness, grassiness, and herbal hop aroma. Mouthfeel: light, crisp and refreshing with a nice dry finish. Flavor: pleasant malty sweetness blends well with some lemon, grass, and tangy hops. Overall: most excellent. Compares equally with Czech Pilsners.

Sour skunk aroma. Light golden color with a good head. Light tasting roasted malt and light bitterness. Good beer.

Floback (522) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAY 23, 2014
12-pack of cans from Big Red Liquor, Indianapolis. Pours a standard golden color with a small white head. The nose is honey and subtle citrus. Flavors are incredibly subtle, getting notes of grains and very light hops. Aftertaste of biscotti. Light body and medium carbonation. Refreshing, but really no flavor at all. It is crisp and clean; this beer would be great on a beach or outdoors.

[Köpenhamns ölfestival 2014] Nja, dwt här var ingen favorit idag, balansen satt inte på sin plats och smaken var bitter och tråkig, tyvärr.

Bottle 05/14/2014. Aroma was of a standard lager. Appearance was a nice golden hue. The taste was also of a standard lager, but a touch more. It had an ever so slight bite to it which made it enjoyable, and was also easily drinkable. Overall it was a pretty easy mouthfeel with not a ton going on but I would drink it on a hot day, gathering with friends and family and not hate it.

Lemon-grass forward with a slight bite, but a fairly typical light lager beyond that. Aroma is a bit muted. This would probably fall into the category of what people might refer to as a good "lawnmower" beer to be consumed on hot summer days. Not a bad buy on sale to try, but at it’s regular price, I’d take a pale ale or a torpedo over this almost anytime from the same company. It fits the style and tastes alright, so I can’t really knock it, but at the normal price point, I’d kind of want a bit more in the way of a malt backbone and maybe a slightly increased hops count. It’s thinner than a Boston Lager with less malt taste (Possibly because of the lack of caramel malts?) and either fewer hops or hops that don’t taste as strong. The lemon-grass thing, a more bitter backend (More hops, I’d imagine), and the lack of rice is kind of what differentiates this from a Budweiser. Well, that, and you can tell they are using some different types of barley and hops in the bill, but not necessary better ones, just different. Still, kudos for a summer seasonal that isn’t a wheat beer, a fruit beer, or a shandy (I think that covers just about 95% of the summer seasonal market ;) Many of them are actually wheat beers with lemon and sugar, which almost makes them all three.). At least this is something different and doesn’t follow the pack.
