Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Draft. Moderately grassy nose with a light pepper character. Moderately bitter with a grassy and almost astringent hop finish. A tad dry. Decent.

12 oz. bottle from Cashwise in Williston. Appearance: finger white head, straw color, clear, light to no lacing. Aroma: light wheat, crisp grassy hops with notes of citrus. Palate: light body, crisp, average carbonation, light bitter finish. Taste: sweet wheat and malty biscuit into pilsner hops with notes of lemongrass. Overall, very drinkable, very crisp, very good on a summer day. Nothing amazing all things considered though.

You can’t expect this style to wow u anyways but still makes for a good lager with extra flavor compared to its cheaper counterparts

Clear yellow. Frothy white head. Skunkish. Grass. Grain. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this, but it came across like a sort of premium bud light... Did not care for this. I’ll give it another try if I find it at a pool party.

Bottle. A: Light, clear gold with quite a few bubbles running through it. Fluffy white foam head, light lacing. N: Graininess, some white grape, white peppercorn, lemon rind, minerality, very floral. T: Moderate bitterness and sweetness. M: Light body, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol presence. O: A tasty, clean Pilsener. It has a solid malt base to hold up under a big hopping. It seems like it’s missing a couple components which bring it up to Heater Allen levels, but I would have this over and over.

I just finished my first ever Summerfest 2015, packaged 03/06/15, (so just over a month ago). I poured a fairly cold 12 oz bottle slowly into a pilsner glass. Excellent carbonation but I only got a finger of white head. With an aggressive pour the head on this beer would erupt. A nice, light yellow, borderline amber color, (3-4 SRM). Lots of bubbles coming up. The head is a little frothy for a pilsner. The nose was spot on for the style, although maybe a little bit subdued. A very biscuity, yeasty, bready maltiness with just a hint of citrus. I got no floral or spice in the aroma. The taste was also dead on for a Bohemian style pilsner, but also a little on the light side. A light to light-medium body and mouth feel. Not watery at all. The grains also stand out in the flavor and the hops seem to be there more to hold the sweetness back than to add bitterness. I think the IBU’s on this are probably a little low for the style. The original gravity was within range but the final gravity was a little low, so that 5% ABV is a little on the high side. All in all a super refreshing great tasting brew. I only bought one bottle to try but I’ll be picking up a lot more of these this summer. So far I’ve been impressed with every Sierra Nevada beer I’ve tried. Torpedo was my go-to last year, but I’m thinking this could be this summer.

Appearance: very clear average gold color, medium off white head that dissipates fast, Aroma: pretty faint, citrus, hard to pick up much else Taste: very light body with some hop bitterness throughout, lots of hops for a pilsner, some spice, Palate: soft carbonation, minimal bitter aftertaste, light mouthfeel Overall: no doubt the best pilsner I've had up to this point, you can actually Taste a nice hop character in it, very easy drinking ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

18.1.2015. Slightly hazy yellow. Pilsener like lemonish aroma. Taste is refreshing, lemon, hay, grassy malts and hops. Still quite mild.
