| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 28, 2008 NICE clean tastes in this well flavored lager beer. the beer is smooth and well packed with honest beer flavor. good malt flavor slightly sweet and yeasty with real good body. it stands in the middle of a strongish pilsner spiced hopped brew. new label in this 2008 vintage and i am quite impressed even for sierra nevada. i don’t think you can do much more in a lager. at 5% I AM hard pressed to think of better true flavor in a lager. just tastes like a golden brew heavier in taste than most summers. just strainght up beer no gimmicky flavors. made for the beer drinker to enjoy thanks s/n! haggis03a3 (135), Piedmont, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Pours brilliant light yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of malt, bread, hops and a bit of fruity yeast. Just enough malt and hops flavor. Clean thin palate, but that’s the point. This is a great lager served cold on a hot day. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Pours very light amber with a generous white head, some lacing. Aromas of malt, and lager yeast with a hint of citrus hops on the nose. Very clean palate; just a bit of yeastiness balanced with hops. Light to medium body. No real finish or aftertaste. I think this beer is a bit too clean for its own good. Botnik (107), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2008 I’m certainly a fan of Sierra Nevada. I don’t usually bother with lagers, though. Then I thought, why would Sierra Nevada bother with lagers? Hops, of course. Summerfest 2008 is a lively hoppy lager, just as you’d expect from Sierra Nevada. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Bright gold with white head. Aromas of corn sugar, grass, copper, and spicy grassy hops. Flavor is powdery, sugary malt with grassy hops and a little fruitiness in the background. Very hoppy in the finish, and the hops seem a bit out of place throughout. Thin overall, but tasty and very drinkable. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
