haggis03a3 (132), Piedmont, California, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pours brilliant light yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of malt, bread, hops and a bit of fruity yeast. Just enough malt and hops flavor. Clean thin palate, but that’s the point. This is a great lager served cold on a hot day. Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pours very light amber with a generous white head, some lacing. Aromas of malt, and lager yeast with a hint of citrus hops on the nose. Very clean palate; just a bit of yeastiness balanced with hops. Light to medium body. No real finish or aftertaste. I think this beer is a bit too clean for its own good. Botnik (102), Carrollton, Texas, USA Apr 27, 2008 I’m certainly a fan of Sierra Nevada. I don’t usually bother with lagers, though. Then I thought, why would Sierra Nevada bother with lagers? Hops, of course. Summerfest 2008 is a lively hoppy lager, just as you’d expect from Sierra Nevada. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bright gold with white head. Aromas of corn sugar, grass, copper, and spicy grassy hops. Flavor is powdery, sugary malt with grassy hops and a little fruitiness in the background. Very hoppy in the finish, and the hops seem a bit out of place throughout. Thin overall, but tasty and very drinkable. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Apr 27, 2008 my favorite sierra nevada beer, definitely has the taste of summer to hit, tangy and hoppy durhambeer (1188), Durham, USA Apr 27, 2008 On tap at WBF in Raleigh. Somewhere in between a lager and a wheat beer to my palate. Probably my least favorite Sierra Nevada brew, but certainly drinkable. rayOfBeer (316), El Cerrito, California, USA Apr 27, 2008 Poured from 12oz, labeled 2007, clear golden blonde with small white head. Aroma is a toasted bread on top of grassy hops. The flavor is dry with toasted bread and a light maltiness that has a tart lemon grass and hay taste. Palate is very light and crisp. Easy to drink but better cold. Becomes too grassy and astringent at warmer temp. Ok beer for barbeque and hot outdoor day, but not really my cup of tea or beer in this case. phobos1031 (71), Paradise, Nevada, USA Apr 26, 2008 12oz bottle. clear golden sparkly festive in appearance. nice medium head. not a lot of aroma, slight ball bag/taint smell. little bit of hops with crisp bitter finish.
