Formed large foamy head, aroma of grass, hops, ocean water. Flavour was of sweet corn, floral hops, and carbonated water. I guess it was ok, considering it was a lager type beer, however coming from SN I was a little disappointed. Serve it up on tap on a hot day for friends or lawn, other wise take it somewhere else. Sorry fellas. SamGamgee (1429), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA

Blasts of sulfur and grassy hops waft at you, followed by some herbs. Crisp, hoppy flavor, with bready malts that provide a nice sweetness. Clean, light mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Definitely retains the SN signature character despite the lager yeast. Not bad, but I think that they could do better. (3)
Rerate: either they did better this year, or I just like pilseners more... Let’s see, a golden all-malt lager with lats of saaz aroma and flavor, ya this is a pils, and a pretty decent one at that. Good aroma and flavor coming from the hops, but the malt is a little less vivid and bready than I would like. Light and refreshing with a nice lasting bitterness in the finish that doesn’t go too overboard. Another nice beer from the Norcal boys. I really do need to make it up from Chico one of these days. stetzel (22), portland, Oregon, USA

Crisp, citrus hops and pilsner like grass in the aroma. Citrus start to the taste followed by a fruity body and a grassy finish. Good for the style, but I am not a fan of basic lagers. Fizzy mouthfeel. Canadianlush (169), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Poured a dense yellow with a short lived head. Hoppy and citrisy but something’s missing. Finish is short and tangy. Not a bad lager just not as good as I’d hoped for when I pull a Sierra Nevada off the shelf. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA

Lager nose with floral and grassy notes...as well as two-row malts. Flavor is soft hops...mostly grain, with a crisp, clean finish. Nice on a beautiful warm day where you are grilling ribs. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Nose is typical lager yeast, malts, and some floral hops. Taste is grainy, some vanilla, and an earthy hop finish. A bit metallic. Body is light. Carbonation is moderate. Is almost ok. junon (216), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
