Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Poured into a pint glass from a standard bottle. The beer was a clear gold color with a medium-sized, bubbly white head with audible fizz. The aroma was of citrus hops, grapefruit, pine, and maybe some spicy malt; somewhat champagne-like. It was smooth and wet with only moderate carbonation, a slight, tingly fizz, and a very clean finish. Tastes mostly bitter with some sour tones. The finish was drier and again reminded me of champagne.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear golden yellow with a good size frothy white head. Aroma was musty earth, slightly skunky and some cob webs. Thin to medium body with a slightly dry aftertaste. This one doesn’t have a lot going on and was kind of a let down.

Pours a clear yellow colour with a fizzy, quickly disipating white head. The aroma was hoppy and tangy. The flavour had a sweet, slightly bitter grassy hop beggining, with some light citrus. The finish was more bitter with some grainy lager flavours, which I have never been fond of. The sweetness in the intial tatse is reminiscent of honeydew to me. The palate was light to medium bodied and had a slick, oily quality. Overall, a better than average lager, but that doesn’t say much. It is impressive that Seirra Nevada can still maintain a freshness in their beers when they produce such a volume of beer.

Cloudy yellow with a fizzy white head. Slight citrus aroma. Bready taste with a hint of banana and a crisp finish.

Clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma is slight malty and hoppy. Flavor is similar....mild malts and slightly grassy hops. Not a bad lager, but far from special. Lacks character.

A classic summer beer wit a little more bitterness added to it, it almost made me think I was drinking a real weak IPA. Good on a hot day.

2007 Bottle. 12 fl. oz. A crystal clear, golden yellow color. Sudsy, white head with pretty good longevity. Very uninteresting aroma and flavor, although it does have a fresh, clean finish. Unimpressive.

Bottle. Pours a solid yellow with little to no head. Very bland. Very easy to drink. Good summer brew. Step up from water, couple steps up from bud light.
