Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Bittering Hops: Perle & Saaz
Beginning Gravity: 11.8 Plato
Finishing Hops: Saaz
Ending Gravity: 2.7 Plato
Malts: Two-row Pale, Dextrin Malt, Munich
Yeast: Lager Yeast (bottom fermenting)

Pours the most watery, pure yellow I’ve ever seen in a beer. Something like lemon-lime gatorade with a white head. Aroma is skunky lager hops. Taste is the same with a bit of lemon. Just a really bad beer, wasn’t expecting this to be so terrible.

Aroma of yeast and stale beer. Golden color with small to medium white head. Fizzy. Starts clean tasting and finishes with very mild hops.

AHHHHHH! Why did Sierra Nevada make this beer! At first I could have sworn I was smelling a Miller Light or some other crappy lager. I also looked at the color and was very upset. Then I decided to taste it, and it wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t say that I would ever want to drink this beer again. The hop and malty flavor are subtle. Maybe I don’t understand the whole lager part of the beer spectrum. I just find lagers either to weak or too strong, and by strong I mean offensively strong. I can say say that this beer was very smooth. I taste a little corn and I am picking up some sweet notes. This is truly and smooth, and thin summer beer; please drink this after mowing the lawn or exercising, probably tastes a lot better. Not overly bitter, but just right I think. Just wish it was more complex.

12oz bottle(2007)-Clear golden body with a smalll white head and aroma of malt, hops, and a little grass. Taste of hops, grass, malt, with a dry finish. Nice tasting summer brew.

Clear gold corn with a grainy aroma. Sweet grainy body with an easy finish. None of the flaws I usually find in abundance with lagers, I could easily knock a few of these back.

Oh my God I miss this beer. When I lived in Chico it was this and Pale Ale all the time. Golden with little head and a crisp, clean taste that stays with you; and that’s a good thing becasue this beer is in Sierra Nevada’s top 3 for me.

Pours crystal clear pale gold with a firm medium-sized snow-white head. Aromas of fruity and grainy malts. Floral hoppiness definitely noticeable, but not prominent. Pretty decent body for the style, light without being thin. Malt-centric, and even a little grainy towards the throat, but with a nice balancing bitterness which add crispness. There’s a nice lingering finish to this refreshing beer.

2007 bottle at Emerald Isle. Pour is yellow golden with a small, dissipating, white head. Nose is apple juice, lemon, little bit of hops. Flavor is blah, blah, blah. Spices noted--swear I tasted some cinnamon. Bought a 6 pack of this to share with family at the beach. Maybe it will be better tomorrow when Im sitting in the sun on the sand watching girls walk by in string bikinis. Maybe...
