Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 13, 2009 Pours a white head with legs and a clear straw color body. Smells clean and grassy. Flavor is clean malt and some hops. Finish has a slight bitterness. adrosson (9), California, USA does not count Jul 13, 2009 I generally don’t like Sierra Nevada all that much - but I thought this was a nice blend between the generally over-bitterness of the standard Sierra pale ale and a lager. I enjoyed this as a lager with a bit of bite / bitterness to it. hogan873 (317), Joliet, Illinois, USA Jul 12, 2009 Nice, crisp, refreshing brew. Nice bright gold body with a thin white head. Sweet aroma of corn, citrus, and a hint of hops. Smooth and sweet with a crisp bite at the end. A good summer beer. harbuck76 (127), El Cajon, California, USA Jul 12, 2009 Pours a clear gold with average white head. Aroma is some citrus hops light malts. Taste was a little bitter more like a pils. Its a crisp and clead lager. better than the run of the mill macros. NPRugby11 (82), New York, USA Jul 10, 2009 Upon sipping this I immediately drew a comparison to the Pale Ale, which is my usual choice from Sierra Nevada, this has very ale-like characteristics for a lager, especially the bold hops and slight bitterness. A very good brew. BanjoDude (28), Kingsport, Tennessee, USA Jul 10, 2009 Tastes like a much better Pabst Blue Ribbon, very crisp with a good aroma of Saaz hops. A good Summer beer, beats a Budweiser anyday... Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 9, 2009 On tap at Chappys in Dayton. Yeah not my top choice beer for Sierra Nevada. Aromas and flavors are subdued. Not a bad beer, but simple and kind of boring. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2009 Looks like a typical pale american lager but perhaps there is a very slight haze. From the start, lots of ale personality. Combines the attritbutes of hopppy ale and sharp pilsner. Good fizz and tingle on the palate. Smells somewhat yeasty and the aroma does develop some hoppy fragrance as the session continues. Sharp pilsner linger in the back of the throat for a finish. I would say this has way too much bitter personality for the typical premium lager. IMHO more like a bitter pilsner.
