Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

On tap at Chappys in Dayton. Yeah not my top choice beer for Sierra Nevada. Aromas and flavors are subdued. Not a bad beer, but simple and kind of boring.

Looks like a typical pale american lager but perhaps there is a very slight haze. From the start, lots of ale personality. Combines the attritbutes of hopppy ale and sharp pilsner. Good fizz and tingle on the palate. Smells somewhat yeasty and the aroma does develop some hoppy fragrance as the session continues. Sharp pilsner linger in the back of the throat for a finish. I would say this has way too much bitter personality for the typical premium lager. IMHO more like a bitter pilsner.

Tap at Hop Leaf. Poured a clear gold with a thin white head. The aroma was light with sweet fruity notes as well as a slight hoppy bite. The flavor is nice and light but something is a bit off. Notes of apples and hops.

12 oz bottle from a sixpack from a local grocery store. Can’t believe this is my first shot at it. Pours a golden straw, a touch hazy, nice white bubbly head that dies down, laces. Aromas are grainy, a touch of pilsner malt funk, grainy cereal qualities, light floral hoppiness and fruity undertones. Finishes mellow sweetness, light bitterness. Nice summer sipper, sessionable, light bodied. A nice summer brew and very nice lager! Cheers.
