Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

My first response after tasting this for the first time was that it was a Budweiser clone. So the next day, I did a side by side tasting of the Budweiser and Summerfest. The difference were so minimal that if someone were to switch these two, I would not be able to tell a difference. The only differences were in the appearance and slight bitterness. The head on Summerfest stuck around proving that it used malt instead of corn and rice. But the Aromas and Flavors were identical. This is what I would consider an epic fail on Sierra Nevada’s part. If they were looking for a way to make a more expensive version of Budweiser, then they have succeeded.

2014, 355ml bottle. what better beer to have in the middle of winter? pours completely clear light gold with pillowy white head like a pale lager. aroma is weak hops, bread and not much else. taste is of very little not helped by the fact i drank this alongside some decent de molen beers. this is much akin to an average pale lager really.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks zvsn. 2014 bottle. Pours clear yellow with a white head, aroma of honey, grain, wheat, flavor is slightly bizarre with grain and sunflower seeds, light bodied.

12 oz. bottle from BevMo. Nose is faint grain and yeast. Taste is light malt and bread. Medium light hops with a hint of citrus that offsets the malt. Dry finish with lingering hop bitterness. Medium-high carbonation. Nothing earth shattering. Just an excellent, subtle, thirst quenching bohemian Pilsener. Very drinkable. Love the low ABV.

A traditional lager that can be lighter than some of lagers. Great in the summer with a nice hop kick. A bit of sweetness as well.

Bottle from ABC. Pours a clear yellow with a small and quickly diminishing head. Virtually no lacing. Aromas of light grain, vague citrus. Flavor is sweet with a dry, watery finish. Miles away from their best offering, it's still relatively refreshing after a long day. Acquire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
