1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
My first response after tasting this for the first time was that it was a Budweiser clone. So the next day, I did a side by side tasting of the Budweiser and Summerfest. The difference were so minimal that if someone were to switch these two, I would not be able to tell a difference. The only differences were in the appearance and slight bitterness.
The head on Summerfest stuck around proving that it used malt instead of corn and rice. But the Aromas and Flavors were identical.
This is what I would consider an epic fail on Sierra Nevada’s part. If they were looking for a way to make a more expensive version of Budweiser, then they have succeeded.

Bottle. Clear gold, thin white head. Tropical fruit, grassy hops and floral elements. Hop dominated flavours of tropical fruit, grass and floral notes. Malty finish. Nice light change to the usual ales.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of lager yeast, grain and corn. Pretty golden color with a nice white foamy head. Light palate. Crisp taste of slightly hoppy lager with slight sweetness. Decent summer beer.

From a bottle. Good example of style, slightly hoppier than I expected which was very nice. Not normally my style but still worth it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s been a while since I’ve had this, but I remember it being crisp like a summer beer should be, and just bitter enough that it had some unique character to it to set it apart from other summer brews.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Gold with a white head that doesn’t last that well. Grainy aroma with some nice, quite delicate spicy and floral notes, some lemon. Sweet hay and grains don’t dovetail all that well with the hops, but there’s some spicy bitterness. Sound enough but uneventful.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from beer52. Clear pale yellow, small white head. Aroma is grassy and a bit bland, no sweetcorn though. Taste is bitter and dry and crisp. Not too thin and medium carbonation. Not a bad lager.
