Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Bottled, from Sainsburys. Gold thin but lasting white head and good condition. Delicate sweet grain in the nose with an initial hint of peppery hops that soon mellows. Quite full bodied in the mouth with chalky graininess, some residual sweetness and a low gentle hop bitterness which lingers into the finish.

Big white head shrinks slowly leaving coarse lacing. Pale yellow body. Chalky apple aroma, like a Czech lager, with firm malty notes. Sweetish, resiny taste, extremely clean, slightly fruity. Some medicinal notes and faint fruity hops. Not much aftertaste, just a dry hint. Nice, mellow, not too exciting. Quite good. (0.355l bottle. Rerated bottle from Sainsbury’s, London.)

Pours with a vibrant golden body covered by a small, rocky, white head. Crisp, citrus hops and pilsner like grass in the aroma. Citrus start to the taste followed by a fruity body and a grassy finish. Good for the style, but I am not a fan of basic lagers. Fizzy mouthfeel.

Draught. Golden with a creamy head. Clean, fresh, grassy aroma with herbal undertones. Clean malty flavour with a crisp grassy aftertaste.

Bottle. Golden beer with a faint spiciness in the aroma. Malt and grassy flavors but light and refreshing. Better than your typical lager, but not by much.

I was really not too impressed with this one. Pours a rich golden color with a medium and fizzy off-white head. Very bubbly with thin lacing. Aroma is mild hops with a pinch of citrus. Light and crisp but ultimately uninspiring in the flavor department. It tasted about a 1/2 step better than the rest of the bland Lagers out there. The finish is decent but I honestly found my interest waning way before the end of the glass.

Bottled. Aroma has hops, some grains, flowers. Clear, golden coloured with a lasting, white head. The taste is a little sweet, slightly bitter. It has flowery, bit grainy hoppiness. Some citrus in it. Nice balanced and slightly more body than a normal lager. Quality beer.

Bottle: Translucent pale golden, mediocre frothy white head, minor lacing, light carbonation.   Subtle malt aroma, slight underarm.   Malty start, subtle, somewhat thick mouthfeel, with very little hop presence (contrary to the description).   Obviously not big bodied, but at least its fairly smooth.   Clean finish, lingering maltiness, but otherwise rather boring.   I recall prior years being a bit more flavorful.
