Commercial Description:
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Clear gold color with a nice white head of soapy bubbles. Aroma is almost corn. Smells like a not-so-high-quality lager. Flavor is much better. Light and crisp with some malt sweetness. Finish is corny but I can’t believe there is any corn in this. Body is very light and a little sticky. Meh.

Pale gold color with a decent head. Aromas of wheat and pale malts. Flavors of grain, a little spicy, and a slight hop bitterness in the finish.

Pretty pale gold pour with bright white head and a powerfully grainy aroma undershot by hops. Grainy taste with a faint citrus/floral note from the hops. Solid beer and pleasant to drink.

12 oz bottle. Pale with a white head. Spicey, slightly citrus aroma, and subtle. Flavor is well balanced with hops. Crisp, light refreshing, and has a bit of character to make it a decent summer brew.

Color of light golden pale yellow with a fluffy white head that fades to a ring and lots of whispy lacing. Smell is faint, crisp, yeast & wheat notes and soft fresh malts, a bit of musty grass or old water logged wood also noted in the aroma. Taste is more of the same, smooth at first, clean, fresh, soft malts, picks up some light hops of herbal quality near the middle and ending with a short crispness that holds some yeast & wheat-like features through into the finish; which is very nice. Solid finish. Feel has a smooth start and picks up some fullness in texture midway and into the finish. This is a pleasing, simple, easy drinkin' beer. Perfect for a summer refresher.

12oz bottle. Blasts of sulfur and grassy hops waft at you, followed by some herbs. Crisp, hoppy flavor, with bready malts that provide a nice sweetness. Clean, light mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Definitely retains the SN signature character despite the lager yeast. Not bad, but I think that they could do better. (3) Rerate: either they did better this year, or I just like pilseners more... Let’s see, a golden all-malt lager with lats of saaz aroma and flavor, ya this is a pils, and a pretty decent one at that. Good aroma and flavor coming from the hops, but the malt is a little less vivid and bready than I would like. Light and refreshing with a nice lasting bitterness in the finish that doesn’t go too overboard. Another nice beer from the Norcal boys. I really do need to make it up from Chico one of these days.

Summerfest pours a light golden color with a tall head that lingers. Aromas of skunky citrus and putrefied vanilla cream. Light nectar with ample residual effers. Clean and crisp with snappy hoppsy citrus rind and slight biscuiting. The finish is bittered nicely. This is one of the best lagers out there. A great session beer.

Golden yellow w/ small finger of white foam. Sweet malt & light, citrusy hop aroma. Light, grainy feel. Nicely balanced flavour of grainy malt, light fruit (lemon?) & moderate hops.
