BREWMUSKCLES (817), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Apr 28, 2008 NICE clean tastes in this well flavored lager beer. the beer is smooth and well packed with honest beer flavor. good malt flavor slightly sweet and yeasty with real good body. it stands in the middle of a strongish pilsner spiced hopped brew. new label in this 2008 vintage and i am quite impressed even for sierra nevada. i don’t think you can do much more in a lager. at 5% I AM hard pressed to think of better true flavor in a lager. just tastes like a golden brew heavier in taste than most summers. just strainght up beer no gimmicky flavors. made for the beer drinker to enjoy thanks s/n!
wyzzywyz22 (453), Wirral, Merseyside, England Nov 21, 2008 Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Lightish amber colour with a medium sized dissipating head. The aroma was vaguely matty, but couldn’t detect a massive amount going on . Crisp, grassyish flavour with muted hop and citrus tones. A better than average lager, but not really for me. Was expecting a bit more. jimmack34 (158), Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2008 2005 bottle, drank it 2006. Going off memory for this one, I forgot to write it down. Poured gold with soft white head. Lemon was the first smell to hit my nose, followed by a citric floral aroma. Tasted like a german lager with some lemon and some spice. Very smooth and highly drinkable. Wished I had more. fonefan (5507), Ulfborg, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Bottle 350ml. @ home.
Clear medium to dark orange yellow color with a large, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toaasted, fruity, light to moderate hoppy, lemon - acidic bitter sweet. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (060908) KnutAlbert (2462), Oslo, Norway Oct 13, 2008 Bottle from a NYC deli.
Z crisp and clean lager. Like the best of the Northern German pilsners. Sometimes this is excactly what you want. BlackForestCO (629), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle. Poured a crystal clear yellow color with a thick, rocky white head that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of light pale malts, some light honey, and some soft, floral hops. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some light honey leads into a lightly spicy, floral hoppiness that finishes with a light fruity citrus (mainly orange peel). Low carbonation, smooth on the palate, light hop bite on the finish. While it isn’t very complex, this is a well-crafted beer that really shows the difference between a good lager and a US Macro.
