Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Clear, pale, gold with good, foamy white head / Bright nose of lemon and grain / Light body, crisp, with long, dry, hoppy finish / Flavors of lemon, bread, grass, and grain / Best pale, pilsner really, that I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Light, flavorful, and refreshing. A very good beer without an overload of hops. Really enjoyed this.

This is an excellent lager, IMNSHO. Absolutely delicious. Hoppy, just like I like, but also nice and malty. I continue to be more and more impressed with the Sierra Nevada brewery.

(2011 Release) Another entry into my personal BHoF! This brew pours a rich amber-gold colored body and sports a frothy/bubbly head which dissipates to a thin head with good retention and lacing. Scents of sweet malts and citrus-y fruits. Flavors of sweet malts and citrus-y fruits are absolutely amazing! The body is light, crisp, and dry which makes for an incredibly easy-drinking brew. When compared against other Czech lagers (whether imported or domestic) this one has them beat hands down! Definitely a brew to be enjoyed on hot Texas summer days; but also an excellent brew to enjoy year-round. luminous pale gold, very slight haze, and stark white head that retains a thin head for the duration of the pint.

Crisp taste, nice balance of hop and malt, light enough to drink in the sun, heavy enough to let you know you are drinking a beer. One of my all-time favorites.

On tap at Maggiano’s, Chicago, IL. 12 oz bottle from the last six-pack snagged from Whole foods, Deerfield, IL. Clear golden yellow hued having large, rocky white head with good lacing. Fresh, crisp citrusy aroma. Medium bodied with creamy texture. No discernable carbonation. Starts with light nutty sweet malt taste and finishes with light bitterness. A tasty refreshing drinkable beer that should be offered year-round, not just summer. One of my favorite summer beers.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2008 Sierra Nevada’s Summerfest is a classic pilsner brewed with top-notch ingredients. It pours a clear light golden with a thin white head. Nice hop bitterness clearly lacking in most domestic pilsners; tasty and satisfying and very smooth. This is what Budweiser would taste like if they stopped using rice in their beer. Buy a case, fire up the BBQ this summer, and enjoy a Summerfest

Refreshing yet bold and substantial. Love to quaff this citrusy, hoppy delight on hot summer days. If I could only find it in cans, it would displace Harpoon Summer as my go-to beach beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
