Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

Finishing Hops: Saaz
Ending Gravity: 2.7 Plato
Malts: Two-row Pale, Dextrin Malt, Munich

This is an excellent lager, IMNSHO. Absolutely delicious. Hoppy, just like I like, but also nice and malty. I continue to be more and more impressed with the Sierra Nevada brewery.

Sierra Nevada’s Summerfest is a classic pilsner brewed with top-notch ingredients. It pours a clear light golden with a thin white head. Nice hop bitterness clearly lacking in most domestic pilsners; tasty and satisfying and very smooth. This is what Budweiser would taste like if they stopped using rice in their beer. Buy a case, fire up the BBQ this summer, and enjoy a Summerfest

On tap at Maggiano’s, Chicago, IL. 12 oz bottle from the last six-pack snagged from Whole foods, Deerfield, IL. Clear golden yellow hued having large, rocky white head with good lacing. Fresh, crisp citrusy aroma. Medium bodied with creamy texture. No discernable carbonation. Starts with light nutty sweet malt taste and finishes with light bitterness. A tasty refreshing drinkable beer that should be offered year-round, not just summer. One of my favorite summer beers.

Ah, another good one from sierra nevada. this was a very interesting brew. Pours a pale amber with a frothy white head has a bit of lacing as well. Very frefreshing feel in the mouth with just the right touch of a tangy hop bite at the end. Perfect for summer!

Oh my God I miss this beer. When I lived in Chico it was this and Pale Ale all the time. Golden with little head and a crisp, clean taste that stays with you; and that’s a good thing becasue this beer is in Sierra Nevada’s top 3 for me.

Massive head with a slightly cloudy, amber body; nice citrusy nose isn’t strong enough, but the flavor sure is. Wonderful malty, full, well-balanced brew with just enough hoppiness to keep the palate, the best part, alive though also very smooth. Just great.
