COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

I get that spicy grassy, floral hop smell with some grainy Pilsner malt. Crisp and refreshing with that spicy hop bite and the Pilsner bready malt with some wheat tastes in there as well. The hops end the beer and give a tangy bitterness just as Sierra Nevada describes. This is an excellent beer for the style and definitely one of my all time favorite summer beers to drink on a hot summer day.

Draft at Special Brews. Figured this beer would fit well with the outdoor situation. Pours yellow with a lasting fizzy head. An odd, less than appealing aroma. Lighter grainy flavor with a grassy finish. Nothing about this beer was standing out, however it was very drinkable and semi refreshing on a hot day. I guess I expected a bit more, but not bad.

Clear golden color, white head. Aroma of hay and citrus. Medium body. More complex than most lagers, nice citrus notes, good bitter finish.

Pours lemonade yellow with an average white head. Aroma is straight from a skunk’s butt. Taste is equally horrid. Skunky, light with a bit of grain thrown in for some reason. This is not a good beer at all.

Bottle. Fairly Pale yellow pour, minimal White head. Mild taste, mostly malts. Nothing special, but probably good on a warm summer day. Average carbonation.

Pours a pale gold color with minimal lacing. Smells mildly of hops and tastes about the same. A nice beer for the summer time, but sadly just like all of the other session summer ales.

Pours clear golden with a dense white head. The aroma is clean. The taste is that peculiar American microbeer hop aroma / residual malt sweetness balance that I do not really care for. Not sure why they cannot or will not produce a classic lager like in CZ or Germany, but perhaps they do not know how to do it. Summerfest tastes like an ale brewery trying to make a lager, but missing the mark. It makes me wonder why they even waste their time with this stuff.

Pours pale straw yellow, frothy white head. Nice lager aroma. Taste slightly more malt then I was expecting which gives habit more sweetness and body. Also, slightly floral and a bit musty. Not quite as "crisp" as advertised. Very drinkable... good session beer.
