Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Jul 22, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at the White Horse. Firstly, I have to say hats off to the White Horse for making this available both cask and on tap. I had a nip of the tap version but this is from the cask version. Amber colour with a thin white film and good condition. Amazingly fresh and grassy aroma full of superb US hoppage but never even close to being over the top and the best tobacco notes I have experienced. Fantastic icing sugar and malt and just all round, SO bloody good. The flavour is very much along the same lines. A beautiful balance of grassy hops and sweet earthy malt. Stupidly fresh and absolutely gorgeous. Excellent palate. Brilliant stuff. illinismitty (1331), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 21, 2008 Draft at Flying Saucer Nashville, right before the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss concert. I had to drink something good because the Sommet Center only serves Bud and Heineken. Pours amber orange with a thin off white head. Nice bold floral and citrus hope aroma. Medium bodied with the typical SN house character and texture. There is a semi sweet caramel and toasty malt backbone, supporting a very nicely balanced hop bitterness of grapefruit and pine that carries through to the finish. Good stuff JCB (889), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 On draft at Tyler’s, Durham, in the fine company of Turdferguson. Nice looking beer, a deep orange with hints of ruby and a moderate carbonation (very little head to speak of). Inviting floral nose, with some sweet malts in there perhaps. I can definitely see how this is an improvisation on Celebration, always a winner in my book. Drinks very easily, nicely hopped and good balance, but the body/palate are too thin for me. I’d have to try this elsewhere, as it may have been this particular keg line. Still and all, a fine brew that went down mighty well. blankboy (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2008 Draught at Cole’s, Buffalo, NY. Pours a clear deep orange with an average size diminishing creamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma, spicy and fruity and well backed by sweet malt. Pleasant resiny & spicy hop flavour with some fruit, sweet toasty malt and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Quite easy to drink -- i really liked this! martinboer (1297), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 14, 2008 On tap at White Horse on Parson’s Green. Amber body with nice head. Very hoppy nose. Serious hoppy taste with nice malt tastes too. Good balance. Very good.
