Pours of the bottle as a deep, clear amber with a thick off-white head that sticks to the side of the glass as stays on as a big cap as the carbonation streams up from the bottom. The aroma is mainly light citrus with lemons and oranges but with plenty of grassy whiffs as well. The taste follows the aroma but probably has a bit deeper citrus bitterness than the aroma with more grapefruit than anything else. There is plenty of malt to balance things out. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit dry with lots of bitterness in the finish. As mentioned before, lots of carbonation and the bubbles are active throughout. This is a great balanced IPA that’s certainly not a hop bomb but brings its share of citrus bitterness to the table.

Bottle in Seattle. Pours a golden mug with thick long lasting foamy head. Aroma of hops hits the brain. Woody notes with a light citrus. Flavour starts with a strong sharp citrus in a strong malty base. A well executed amped up SNPA. More malt. More hops. Flavour alternates between the woody hops and the citrus. Very malty and more hoppy.

Pours a clear orange/amber with small white head. Nice hoppy aroma along with caramel. The flavor was surprisingly well balanced. All the hop flavor you would expect from SN -- earthy, citrus, bitter all blended together with a great malt backbone. The sweet and bready malts really worked synergistically with the hops to create a great brew with a medium body and dry finish. I didn’t realize the 7.2% ABV either. I am not sure what an Extra IPA is but I sure like it!

Bouteille de 12 oz. Arômes invitants de houblon américain (résine, agrumes). Robe ambrée assez foncée, belle petite mousse qui tient bien. En entrée de bouche, un malt caramel bien présent se manifeste puis cède la place à une amertume de houblon américain tranchante. L’alcool réchauffe légèrement la finale. Très amer, mais l’amertume est très bien intégrée à l’expérience globale.

Amber pour with an off white head. hoppy aroma of pine. Taste is of hops then malt. has a dry taste at the end. O.K. beer.

Reviewed 4/14/2009 (Bottle): Pours an amber brownish colored body, fizzy and clear. Huge head, thick and creamy looking, foamy. Very lasting too. Sweet bitter hop aroma. Some pine but not off-putting. Softish mouthfeel. Good piney dry taste. Some grapefruit. Makes me want another, drying. Somewhat sweet, bitter aftertaste. Very tasty. Very balanced taste, just enough hoppiness.

12oz bottle. I’ve had a few of these before, but never felt like the time was right. Tonight, we dance. Amber color with a lasting white head. The aroma is hoppy with citrus and light pine notes. Maybe a bit of mango for good measure. The flavor is quite hoppy with a light caramel malt balance. The hops shine here though, and the bitterness just outdoes the malt. Good stuff. Medium bodied and smooth. Good shit for the most part. Nothing spectacular, but a solid IPA and I am very gad that this is coursing through the SN veins. The first couple of times I had this I thought that it was overly harsh and metallic, but it is quite smooth this time. This is sooo much better than St. Ides... Hop cleansing achieved.

An ornage/gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Nice citrus hops dominate the nose. Flavor is very well balanced with malt to carry a very nice bitter finish. Medium bodied with very good carbonation. A beer I liked very much.

Bottle. Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma has a touch of malt, grapefruit, and some pine. Nice body, oily mouth feel, and incredibly bitter. Solid IPA. I liked it.
