COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Part of the sampler tray at the brewery. Tought to judge based on two ounces, but quite enjoyed this one. My favourite of the bunch

This beer is better near room temperature rather than cold. I love this beer, one of my favorites; the nose and flavor cannot be appreciated when this brew is cold. A nice floral, hoppy, and citrus aroma with an intense hoppy pine resin flavor-followed by a very nice bitterness on the end. mouth feel is very nice of light carbonation.... Overall, this beer is amazing...really.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2010 (bottle) pours a clear amber colour with a tall dense off-white head. aroma of resin, citrus fruits and mango, with a hint of bubblegum, sweet spices, caramel and bread, nicely balanced, could be hoppier though. flavour is lots of resin and a touch of oranges, with light toasted malts and a caramelly bitter finish. medium-bodied with smooth carbonation.

Aroma is lightly floral with unripened mango. Flavor is what I imagine rusty cardboard would be if that was possible. Deep minerals and a bone dry hard bitter finish define this brew. Mouthfeel is refreshing and medium bodied. Below average effort for a classic brewery. Thanks Sierra Nevada. 2010 12oz.

This beer has a really beautiful amber color and big cream colored head. Aroma of pine, orange, bread, caramel, herbs and some sweet floral notes. Quite dry taste. A lot of pine and resin but also citrus flavours like grapefruit, bergamot and clementine. Finishes hoppy and floral. A real solid IPA with a little extra.

Wow this is good. I love SNPA, but the added hop and alcohol really puts this on top. My favorite IPA.

0,355 l bottle from Prague.
Poured golden amber with a nice pillowy and foamy off white head. Caramel in the background a ton of hop in the foreground in the nose with a resiny citrussy, herbal-floral perfume. Like a flowery field. Medium bodied one, fine-mild malts, honey and caramel with the fine hop character: citrusses, grape and resine, pine and spicies. Well balanced in the flavor, on the palate, in the aftertaste. Wow, that was fine!

Slightly hazed orange hue, good head formation and retention. Lots of piney citrus hops on the nose. Soft palate delivers a semi-sweet orangey body, liners a little syrupy but nothing too thick. Hops take over agressively in the back half making for a strong bitter grapefruit finish. Definitely a hop heads beer, my only complaint would be that the hops are a little too aggressive and the malt lacks depth. Still highly drinkable in my book.

12 oz. bottle, $1.50 single at HyVee. There’s the expected big American hop smell under the cap. Pours amber, almost brown in an IPA tulip, with a rocky head of foam. Taste is everything a hop-head could expect. Piney, sticky with hop resin, a bit citrussy, and with a good backing of malt. Slightly more alcohol is welcome at this time of night. Not as much attitude as Alpha King. May be one of my new favorite general-purpose IPAs.
