Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear golden colour, large and very creamy white head. Hoppy nose with lots of citrus fruit. Full-bodied, solid malty base complemented by lots of citrusy and pine-like hops. Hints of lemon, lemon grass and herbs, also pine-tree. Very nice indeed!

Torpedo is one of my favorites. Sierra Nevada is great because not only is it good beer, it is usually priced very reasonably. Their pale ale is also great

My expectations where high on this one. Aroma was bright and hoppy. Flavor was very nice, sweet and juicy. Very Hoppy, yet very drinkable. Want more!

Pours ruddy gold w/ gold highlights and pale beige head. Smell orange citrus fruits and yeast and hint sulfur. Taste powerfully bitter hops and orange and some mineral, taste carries on in bitter grapefruit peel and grassy taste, and under this is some support of sweet fruit and fresh grainy bread. I sunk your battleship.

Copper color in the glass. Really pleasant Cascade-like hop aroma with citrus notes. Very smooth and well-balanced on the palate, overall just a very easy to drink IPA.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Slightly unclear, amber colour with a thick off-white foamy head. Fruit-accented and spicy, slightly piney hoppy aroma with a slightly bready (cara-)malty touch. Bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a slightly crispy carbonation. Cara-malty and fruity and spicy hoppy taste with an almost dry and moderately bitter finish torpedo-ed by notes of alcohol. Compared with the parallelly sampled Anniversary Ale this one is less rounded. One more example that the stronger brew is not necessarily the better one. 20.II.10

Hoppy. Mmmmmm. Sweet and juicy hoppiness thatís grapefruit, piney and grassy. But I like it. Usually I donít liek the hops that are more grassy related but iíve come around to liking pine, and these are very green-flavored hops, but the beer has an extremely balanced, sweet flavor to it so you get the dry bitterness in the mouth and on the swallow, but in the finish is cools down to a more sweet wet finish. Very good IPA.

This is one of my favorite beers... period. It is complex and hoppy but manages to pull it off in a way that makes it incredibly approachable to the mass drinker. So easy to drink you need to be careful as itís not a session beer. Like to keep at least a few bottles of the Torp in the fridge at all times. This beer cemented my undying respect and loyalty for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
