Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

( 12oz bottle) Pours deep golden with nice 2 finger head and good lacing. Nose of really nice piney and citrus notes going on here. Lots of hops. Taste of pine notes, and almost no bitterness, great malt backbone here. Creamy, perfectly carbonated, oily slick, and near perfect mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from Whole Foods mix-six cooler. Copper/amber pour with a sticky, off white head that left some nice lacing. Resin, pine and floral notes are quite prevelant. Flavors of pine, some grapefruit, grass and a nice caramel/malt balance. Lingering hop bitter with some spiciness. More depth/character than SNPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber, with a thick rocky off-white head that persists for some time. Lacing is well above average. Nose is grapefruit, restrained pine, grass, mild perfume, , light spice. Palate is nicely bitter, with the malt background a bit more caramelly than I’m used to with an IPA, but it doesn’t overly interfere with the flavor. Nice spruce and grapefruit-rind character, mildly soapy, not especially delicate or refined, but tasty nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a large, frothy white head. Lacing is moderate. Flavors of grapefruit, spruce, and malts. Palate is smooth and then has a creamy finish, with a nice aftertaste that lingers for a few seconds. Tastes of hops dominate and then finishes with a nice bitter taste. Very good session IPA.

Bottle from The Rake. Pours amber-orange with an off white head. Aromas of citrus, orange peel, slightly floral. Hoptastic flavours of bitter lemon, herbs, grapefruit, lime. Wow! Excellent hop-laden mouthfeel. Finishes with more hops than a rabbit on heat. Nice!

Lovely, tangy nose with citrus and candy notes. Pours orangey pale amber with persistent head and lace. Flavour is near perfect IPA - dry and bitter from the hops but with floral and citric notes and a gentle but all-pervasive sweetness underpinning. Or is it the bitterness underpinning? Either way, the balance is excellent and extends long into the finish, getting dryer and more moreish as it goes. Excellent.

18th September 2008. Clear amber beer. Rich and creamy with a deep hop flavour. Creamy grapefruit that is bitter but not overly so but does lead in to quite a bitter lingering aftertatse. Some marmalde in there too.
