COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Incredibly one note taste and smell. All the bitterness of hops, with none of the citrus or floral aromas. A huge let down, as I thought this would be a great everyday beer. Drinkable certainly, but embarrasingly bad compared to Celebration or even SNPA.

Bottle pours a clear copper/amber color with a big, foamy, beige head. Excellent webbed lacing along the side of the glass. Strong aroma of piney hops and citrus with notes of biscuity malts. Very bitter, hoppy flavor on the front end, followed by a fair amount of maltiness and ending with more hop bitterness. Nice, long lasting aftertaste. Thick and chewy mouthfeel. Very nice!

Aroma- Moderate piney hop aroma, it seems fairly subdued, yet fresh. Grassy. Appearance- Brilliant clarity, orange-ish copper color. Thick, light-tan head with lots of lacing. Flavor- Hop flavor dominates, it is piney and grapefruit like. There is a little sourness from the hops. It has medium resin flavors and itís citrusy. The malt flavor is in the background and delicate, with some biscuit like flavors. This is the hop show though. Mouthfeel- Very dry, from the hops and from the final gravity. Medium carbonation and surprisingly light in body. Overall Impression- At the high end of the style, numbers wise, this beer is a great IPA. The hops and alcohol make it pretty dry, but itís nice and easy to drink.

A certain magazine gave this one an A so I thought I needed to find out what the hype was. Aroma is good with plenty of citrus esters to go around. Flavor has a mix of the usual IPA grapefruit with a nice dry accentuation to it. But the aftertaste seems a bit unbalanced. I think its the malts. I love the hops in this beer but something about the malts keeps it from perfection.

Pours orange-amber with peach colored head. Aroma is yeast and hops. Taste is caramel with citrus, pine, and floral notes. Nice lingering bitterness in the finish. A pretty good IPA.

Light amber pour with small white head. Pine aroma drifts freely. Taste is initially a mouthful of pine leaves mellowed by a sweet malt. Taste finishes with a lingering bitterness.

Nice amber color, with a moderate white head. Hops aroma, a little spicy, fruit, and malt. Decently bitter and nice bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small, rocky, off-white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, grain, cereal, meal), heavy hops (flowers, pine, spruce, grapefruit), average yeast (sweat) with notes of apple, pear, and peach. Medium bodied, sticky and mineral texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

bottle - Pours clear copper with a two finger off white head. It has a rich citrus and pine hop aroma. The flavor is very hoppy but with enough malty sweetness to keep it very drinkable. Itís medium bodied and overall and very fine IPA.

12-oz bottle at Uber. Crystal clear medium amber. Dozens of streams of steadily rising carb. Thick, creamy tan head. Big piney nose. Creamy medium body. Tons of piney notes on the mid-palate. Has some hop oil presence, some dark woods showing from the malt. Lovely and super drinkable. It bears repeating, even for the 500th time: for the price, this is an amazingly good beer.
