Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

12 0z bottle. Copper colored, nice thick off-white head with a thin layer of retention and some lacing sticking. Aroma is pine, floral and herbal notes. Generously hoppy flavor, pine and grapefruit, nice crisp bitter finish. Malty underneath, typical of other Sierra Nevada IPAs. This is very drinkable but also quite tasty and not overly bitter.

Sierra Nevada Torpedo makes great beer. More bitter than hoppy and very drinkable. I enjoyed this beer very much. Finishes smoother and dryer than I expected. Great Beer, Great experience. If this were available at my Liquor store Iíd stock in my fridge.

Not sure how I havenít rated this yet... oh, yeah, Iím lazy. I forgot. Nice citrus hop nose, some caramel and raw sugar. Light to moderate sweetness, a bit of caramel/crystal malts, decent citrus and floral hops. Medium body, gentle carbonation. Not really my style of IPA at all, but the price and availability, along with a solid craft brewer makes this a decent buy.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber. Aroma has lots of great citrus hops, a bit of pine. Taste is good but doesnít quite live up to the aroma. Citrus hops, grapefruit peel, and some caramel malt. Medium sweetness, could be a little more well attenuated. Finish has a lot of bitter hops and citrus peel, a bit of a soapy taste.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2010 bottle. pours an amberish body with a large off white head. very floral in aroma and taste, with hints of vanilla, followed by a sweet malt, before finishing on a fruity hop note. definately enjoyable, but not quite the pale ale.

Cloudy amber color with a nice frothy head on top. Citrus and floral flavors hit your nose with a good bitter finish. Another hop lovers dream beer. Good balance of flavors.

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent darkened copper color, low carbonation, 3mm white head formed with several frog eyes, light lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, and just a bit of funkiness. Hits the mouth with high-medium body, malt is there and has just a touch of caramel to it (the way I like it), hop wave comes crashing in the middle, finish is acidic but has a very slight taste of some kind of funk (canít put my finger on it). Good, just not great.

Bottle. Pours copper-colored with a medium tan head. Aromas of citrus and pine dominate. Flavor is pine, earth, and citrus, all pleasantly bitter. Crisp, refreshing, and quite nice.
