Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Pours a crisp, clear copper color with a thick off-white head that seems to be lasting with nice lacing. You can smell the sweet hops with a little citrus note, overall aroma is lower though because it doesnít stand out for me. Now as for the flavor and palate it is a different story. The hops are there with their wonderful pine bite that Iíve come to love from Sierra Nevada and it also lingers on the palate and sticks with you. As Iíve written this and enjoyed this beer It has livened up and more of the hop aroma is coming through. Overall this is a good beer that I will enjoy and most likely have again.

Bottled- Amber colored, strong earthy aroma with an almost piney scent. Strong taste of hops. Very smooth drinking even with the strong hops. Quite spicy and malty. Aftertaste is mild and fades slowly. Good finish.

Bottle @ Shadyís. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma is rather earthy and hoppy. Easy drinking. Quite malty, but thereís still a nice grapefruit taste here. Tasty and quaffable.

This is a full-bodied IPA with a nic e hop flavoring. Not over the top, but a smooth ale with a bit of citrus flavoring.

Copper color with a very thin head. Strong pine and acidic aroma. Solid malt backbone, nearly crushed by acidity and hops. Mostly pine flavor, not much citrus. Some floral. Dry finish.

Not quite an Imperial, a solid entry in a tough category. Typical SNB quality but not quite the splash I expected in IBUs. Grapefruit dominates aroma with floral aftertaste from the Cascades Iím guessing.

A great very spicy, very hoppy beer with a lot of bite. Might put some people off. Just had one with a carne asada quesadilla and some very hot red chile. Numbs the tongue wonderfully, but definitely brings out the bite. My personal favorite

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2010 Deep, golden body that seems very similar to the Pale Ale initially, with a solid, malty body of bread and caramel backed by grapefruit and orange citrus notes. The difference here is a surging blast of aggressive, piney hops that provide strong but welcome bitterness, masking the high abv well through the medium to long finish. A nice addition and arguable champion of the Sierra Nevada stable of hopped up beers.

12oz bottle. Pours amber with offwhite head. Nice hop aroma strangely less than the pale ale. Decent body. Alright, not great.

What sets this IPA apart from others that I have had is the malt backbone. It provides depth of flavor, but the hops just donít measure up. The aroma is promising, but I was let down a bit by the taste.
