COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Bottle. Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma has a touch of malt, grapefruit, and some pine. Nice body, oily mouth feel, and incredibly bitter. Solid IPA. I liked it.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Ordinary aroma, but pretty nicely textured and balanced in the mouth. While it’s "just another IPA", it’s definitely a bit above the curve.

12oz bottle. Pours golden-orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma similar to SNPA but stronger, with more malt and piney hops. Flavor starts with sweet caramel malt and finishes with citrus and piney C-hops. Mouthfeel is fairly lively with hop oils more noticeable than in SNPA. Good stuff.

Bottle. Aromas of floral and pine notes. Firery orange body when held to light with good head and lacing. Citrusy flavors along with a good dose of dry hop bitter. Chewy sweetness present to off set the dry bitter. Good Brew.

BillKismet (3412) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 15, 2009
Brilliant orange amber with fluffy, hopped head and plentiful upward carbonation. Whiff of fresh, bitter-floral hop leaf. Solid malt backbone. Flavor is again prominently a bitter floralness, rich with Cascades and Chinook, straddling the territory of ESB, APA, and IPA. Uncomplex, but well-stated flavors. A nice, sessionable brew, great for fall nights or summer evenings. Pleasantly, bitter hop leaf on finish.

12oz bottle: Pours a clear orange-copper with a large rocky persistent head that leaves lacing lines at every sip point , aroma is of an orange grove in a pine forest with a lemon on the side. Playful carbonation, slick medium bodied, starts and ends wonderfully bitter. The best beer at this price point

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a clear medium red-amber color with a big, long lasting off-white, fluffy head that leaves immense lacing in the glass. Aroma is of nice malts, fruit, pine, grass, bread, and light spice. Taste is of lightly sweet malts and robust hops well blended with bread, grass and pine. Ending is lightly sweet with citrus notes. Medium bodied, crisp and well carbonated.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2010 An IPA in the Sierra Nevada style. Nicely bittered and flavorful, with a bit of apricot taste in with the hops. A fine IPA, and a nice addition to the Sierra Nevada lineup.

Pours a clear golden brown with a creamy thick off white head. Aroma is nice fresh hops with a grapefruit kick and some backing caramel malts. Very sweet aroma as the hops are especially sweet and and the malts just accentuate that. Flavor starts a bit subdued just a bit of floral grassy hops with grapefruit and a bready malt. Gains a bit of citric bite mid swallow followed by some heavy pine in the finish that overwhelms the balance and lingers without giving way to anything else. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Very hoppy and overwhelmingly so to the point of losing the balance compared to the regular pale ale. Still a nice IPA but not as drinkable.

Bottle pours a deep golden body with a sticky, lacing off-white head. Smells of citrus and some pine hops. Taste is citrus and pine hops with some honey. Nice bitter finish.
