4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled version, served in a Duvel tulip. Every aspect of this beer is reminiscent of Sierra Nevadaís own Celebration Ale from the red splashed amber color to the spicy citrus flavor. This beer is a bit less harsh in the bitterness department thus revealing a bit more complexity from the malt. Aside from the spicy citrus, floral flavor there is some toffee and nuts waiting to be discovered in this one, I even get a hint of vanilla from time to time. This is an immensely enjoyable IPA and a steal at the price they are charging for it. Cheers to Sierra Nevada.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2009 fresh bottle in a tulip. a nice big IPA from SN... pours a deep golden / light orange with a quarter inch off white head. solid piney hop filled body and aroma with a big malt backbone... very well balanced IPA that flirts with being a IIPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Excellent IPA. I wish this were just a bit sweeter and fuller, maltier, in the body--but I find this to be a shortcoming of almost all American pale ales aside from Three Floyds Alpha King. Other than that, I have no real crits. Very drinkable, very tasty, nicely hopped without going into anything overly bitter. Iím not a fan of SNís regular pale ale, but this is much better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours bright copper with a billowing mousse-like head. You can scoop the head up with a spoon. Aroma and flavor are dominated by hops - very Sierra Nevada citrus, pine northwest hops. The hops overwhelm malt flavor. It should be unbalanced, but for some reason I donít understand, it works. Very good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Caponeís. Poured clear copper with slightly off-white head. Some nice sheets of lace. Sharp bitter, piney flavor. Thin mouthfeel, lacks malt. Too one-sided. A bit disappointed in this offering from Sierra.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks for my bro hooking up. Pours a coppery color with medium white head and frothy white head and abundant lacing. Taste is of resinous hops, light pine, citrus and tropical fruits. Intense bitterness in the finish but finishes smooth showing itís toasted malt backbone. Good stuff!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost didnít see this one at Macs. They only had 3 cases of this, so I was happy to have found it. Very nice beer. Has a nice fluffy head. It is transparent, too filtered, but the aroma/taste makes up for that. Very nice balance between hops and malts in the aroma. Originally, I thought that this was an imperial/double IPA, but then I saw the ABV and realized it wasnít. It has the same characteristics of an imperial/double, in my opinion. Nice use of citrus in the aroma. Very crisp and aromatic smell. Nice smooth palate. It is nice and creamy, great palate. Nice use of bittering hops. This one just leaves bitter all over my tongue and mouth. At first at get that slight malt sweetness and then it is all hops after that. Overall, a great beer with a big hop profile.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted 01/17, bottle: clean, clear gold amber body with a 2 finger head, poured into my tulip glass, good retention in the beginning that quickly fades to a single oily layer with lacing, smells of pure forest pine and grapefruit some bittersweet soil gets in there too... very nice smell, taste is IPA style citrus hops, and some malty sweetness, excellent mouthfeel and long peppery bitter finish. Compared to the hype, I expected a Harvest like beer, but this one let me down a little bit, the Southern Harvest is hard to beat in my opinion, good... definately an affordably tastey IPA.

Pours a nice orange color with some head. Big hop aroma of citrus, pine. Nice, flavorful bitterness. Flavor has strong hops, leafy, grassy, grapefruity. Oh, and awesome. Maybe some sweetness and spice in the finish. Great bigger IPA

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2013 clear orange with a little lacing under a large frothy beige head. sweet hoppy aroma with plenty of caramel malt and a good blend of floral and citrus. another well balanced sierra nevada ipa. nice bready malts with a moderate sweetness balanced with bitter citrus hops and aromatic flowery hops. SN does this with best the of emí. the palate seems a little on the thin side with this one.
