4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fantastic! For a hop lover like me this beer is outstanding. Outstanding pine and citrus hop aroma that does not fade after the pour or as you drink it. Flavor matches the aroma pretty closely, with a nice hoppy grapefruit bite but surprisingly smooth - not nearly as much grapefruit bitterness as I would expect in the aftertaste. Fantastic beer for hop lovers.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured clear gold with a bubbly white head. Average lacing. Fresh, crisp grassy hop aroma with orange peel, tangerine, and the signature cedar/pine aroma of Sierra Nevada. Smooth, clean mouthfeel. Lovely taste. Lighter resin gives way to grapefruit and tangerine hop flavors. Done without becoming overwhelming or over-malted. There is only a bit of the caramel and biscuit flavor. A somewhat mineral-water bite as well. Very well balanced. I’ve got to say, this was one refreshing IPA. Well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle. Nice orange brown color with a decent frothy pour. A thin head will persist shorter than most. Hops and malt are turned up in this beer. Lots of pepper and heat from both. Definitely a spicy IPA with a typical resinous persistence. Overall I liked this beer, but couldn’t help thinking it was a lot like the Pale Ale, only more of everything. As always, I appreciate the price and quality from Sierra Nevada.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a beautiful orangish/amber color with a nice off white head. Wonderful aromas of citrus and pine and some sweet caramel malt. Flavor is of citrus and pine mostly with a light, but distinct caramel malt backing. Great bitter hop finish. A wonderful brew for the price!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a nice clear copper with a thin but lasting head and nice lacing. Aroma is tons of PNW hops- citrus pine and sappy resinous hops and a light caramel sweetness. A nice light fruitiness comes out in the flavor which compliments the piney and citrusy hops- ligth carapils sweetness with a nice tacky resinous hop bitterness in the end. Great big hop presence overall but nothing over the top- just a great drinking big IPA. Great stuff for the money.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I love to try new sierra nevada beers. Pours out a copper color with a decent head. aroma was hoppy and grassy with a nice note of citrus. Flavor was rather thin and missing the hope hit i was looking for. I assumed that extra IPA would be an IIPA, but I was wrong. Either way this was a nice brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Andy’s Fruit Ranch, Chicago. Clear copper color with small to medium longlasting head. Aroma is distinct pine hops, dry, peppery, caramel, slight sulphur as well. Flavor is musty pine hops with some grass and sulphur as well, caramel malt, dry, pretty pungent hops though. Medium to full body with creaminess. Unbalanced and sulphuric compounds are off-putting.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Cool to see this one. Pours out a orange color with a bunch of bubbles running through it. Off white head on it. Smell is fruity, full of citrus, pine, grass, all of the elements of an IPA. Taste is very easy to drink and smooth, not as much bitter hops as I thought there would be based on the nose; but it was a good beer. Glad I have several more of them. Probably slightly better than the pale ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from CelticBrew ( I seem to be saying that a lot lately!!) Brilliant orange/amber with a big, durable, rocky, off white head and a thick reticulated lace - a really beautiful pour. Northwest hop aromas dominate, underpinned by by toffee and caramel.Medium body, and surprisingly light carbonation considering considering the appearance. Palate is quite resinous and dry, not at all objectionable, and in fact desirable in this context. Nice balance between light caramel and a peppery bitterness. Very enjoyable.
