Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Bright copper hue with a nice head and sticky lace. Full and zingy mouthfeel. Toasty malts. Healthy amount of resinous bitterness with notes of bitter orange peel. Lingers well into the aftertaste. Hop aromas are filled with pine, grass and zippy herbs. Good stuff.

Bottled, SN rating #32. This is a lovely IPA, very spring fresh and floral in its hoppiness, with a bit fresh mint note, some herbal bits and citrus. The flavor is super herbal, like munching down on a handful of mixed chopped herbs -- basil, mint, tarragon, rosemary. Quite interesting and atypical.

7.2% abv, according to my bottle. Very nice, biggish IPA with complex hop character. Pine, citrus, and herbal notes are present. Body is somewhat dry, with nice mouthfeel, subdued malts, and some breadiness from the yeast (I assume). Nice, long aftertaste. Great, balanced beer that packs in lots of flavor without over the top gravity like many double IPAs. (And itís a steal at $7.50 / 6pk at my local grocery!)

12oz bottle brewed January 20 so this is damn fresh. Nice resiny hop smell, green and herbal. The taste is bitter, a hint of citrus, a solidly hoppy IPA. Nice creamy mouth-feel and is as easy to drink as any Sierra Nevada beer. This is a nice addition to their lineup and Iíll probably buy this on a regular basis. Serving type: bottle

12oz bottle. Pours a pale, copper-orange, crystal clear body with a thin, fizzy, quickly dissipating, white head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is rich, soft, sweet malts and a fresh, forest and pine hoppiness. Not as hoppy smelling as I was expecting, but pleasant nonetheless. Flavor is a quick, light malt initially before the piney hop taste gradually grows. During the middle to end, its very soft, but as it finishes and lingers the hops really kick in. Surprisingly long, bitter finish. Palate is medium bodied with a soft carbonated and drying tickle. Overall, not perfectly balanced from beginning to end seeing that the malts are somewhat quick, but the flavor is still pretty good. The aftertaste is the best part about this beer though.

Bottle. Aroma of some grass, some citrus, overwhelming hay notes. Flavor better, well-balanced between sweet malt and juicy, tropical hops. Really just donít get the exciting notes that others are getting from this beer. Iíve had problems with other obviously-damaged SN beers from the distributor around here, but this didnít seem so much off as just bland to me.

Pale amber color with a white head. Aroma is hops, but not overpowering. Taste is also mostly hops with a nice malt backbone. Strong while still remaining quite drinkable. This could be a good session beer if you really like IPAís but donít want something overwhelming.

bottle from psprings... pours a perfectly pale copper color with a crazy fluffy creamy off white head. loads of lacy rings are left behind with each sip. this smells like walking through the pine forests of west virginia... wet rocks, moss, pine trees, dry leaves, earth and faint sweetness in the air. the flavor is far less poetic and far more maltier than i wanted it to be... itís got orange and grapefruit rinds and pith, pine and hoppy dryness but caramel and maltiness show up to spoil the show. thereís a fair amount of bitterness to help out but it canít quite break through. the carbonation is pleasant and quite soft. the body is medium though only from the sugar content... 7/3/7/4/15/3.6

Citrus rind/mint aromatics balanced by crystal malt with more of the same in the flavor. The finish leaves you with a pleasant mint & grapefruit rind element. A very well-done IPA falling squarely into the "crystal malt + hops" category. The crystal and hops do balance each other well but because itís a flavor combination Iíve tasted so many times before Iím not going to get excited over it.

Bottle Poured a nice amber with pretty white head. Aroma was malt, and citrus/fruity hops. Taste was similar with a nice bitter sugary balance. Well made and easy to drink.
