Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

The only mass produced real IPA. Hard to find on draft so settle for the bottled version which doesn’t have as good an aroma.

Clear copper with a medium sized off white head. Citrus, pot and white bread in the nose. Fairly malt dominated with bread and light toffee, but also some pine, wood, light citrus, flowers. Medium body, oily texture, fluffy carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Mouthfeel is nice. Overall bit too malty and restrained on the aroma hops for my taste.

355ml bottle. Pours a clean amber colour with a creamy white head. Tropical fruity aromas. Mango sweetness to start with a ruby red grape fruit finish.

En rigtig god velafbalanceret dopelt-IPA. Dejlig sød, kraftig og tyk - uden anmassende alkohol. Godt skum. En mild men eventyrlig aroma af frugt, bolsjer og blomster sammen med en god portion malt der tilføjer noget lidt spændende metallisk. Men jeg foretrækker mere markant humlearoma.

This is such a delicious IPA. Seriously surprising. It’s not overpowering, but just right. One of the best I’ve ever had.

BOTTLE 355 ML from Bov. EXP. 01-JUL-15. Yes, there’s traces of hops (if you look well for it) - notes of tropical fruit, some lemon, but CA-RA-MEL is all you get. The taste is not that sweet, but still sticky, and the bitterness is able to balance things up. That’s what you get when you shop for an American IPA in Europe.

Purchased from Systembolaget. Colour is reddish brown, with a light brown head. Nose is very sweet, surprisingly malty because the hoppiness is very abundant, the slight hoppy tones are rather berrylike flavours as from rasp- or strawberries, and not at all citrus like the bottle says, though the pine is still there in some variety. Also I can feel some hints of vanilla? Not what I would have expected from an IPA! My first impression when I tasted this bottle was like drinking strawberryjuice blended with barley wine with a bitter end. The barleywine sensations coming from the malty domination I quess. At this stage I looked at the best before date of the bottle saying 01/07/15 and with this day being less than 3 months from that date I quess this bottle hasn’t aged at it’s best especially when thinking it has been imported to Sweden. I hope to find a fresher bottle in short future so I can compare! Once again to be said - hoppy beers don’t age well!
