Wow, is this ever a good beer. Sierra Nevada really knows what they are doing in their tanks. The best American produced IPA Iíve ever had, (and they are the rage right now.) This is truly outstanding beer, and worth the hype. Marvelously complex flavor and taste profile. Excellent mouth-feel and swallow. Finishes clean with dry bitter notes, (very pleasant.) This beer goes right up to the edge but never threatens to go over. TRULY, the best IPA beer available, (and Iíve tried a bunch.) I think Iíll have another right now.

Drank at o'learys in St. Louis, Missouri. A good IPA that pours gold with white head. While not particularly notable, this is a solid IPA.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
large mug. aroma is caramel mostly, some bread, with a very very slight hint of spice. pours a thick reddish caramel leaving right around a finger of head, which takes quite a while to dissipate and leaves some nice lacing. pronounced juniper/pine flavor, with more bready and fruit (grapefruit and lemon) notes as the beer warms. mouthfeel is fairly thick for an ipa without being heavy, and carbonation is very soft - just enough to know itís still there. finish is quite bitter, but makes you want more. overall solid and drinkable IPA, with a healthy helping of alcohol content. this will likely be one of my go-to beers in the future.

Grown on me over the years. Caramel red color. Strong hop presence paired with a yeasty bread character. Bit of a palate ruiner.

This beer has been a revelation for my taste buds, I mean this beer was as close to perfect as I could imagine and this for me is nirvana in a bottle. The first thing that hits you as you pour the bottle is the hops, I mean not in a subtle way, or a bad way, but in the way that makes your mouth start salivating. When tasting the beer it starts with a sweet malt note that is rapidly over taken by the hops finishing with a semi-dry bitter after taste.
