Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Orange color, unclear. Sweet caramel malt aromas, herbal and citrus hops. Taste mirrors the aromas, heavy on the sweet side, with some fruits. Hoppy, medium bitter finish.

It pours into a clear amber with an off white head. Taste is bitter sweet. The bitter bites the back of your tongue accompanied with a subtle sweetness appertaining after.

Pours a dark clear amber with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of bread, hay, a little bist roasty. Grassy hops, light citrus, herbs. Taste is relatively sweet, dry bitterness. Body is medium to full thanks to the lots of malt shining through. Creamy texture, lively carbonation that is just right. Bitter finish with a slightly metallic after-taste. I really liked this one. The slightly metallic aftertaste was a little much and unexpected after the rich, creamy taste.

Belle couleur ambrée, mousse qui tient le coup. un beau nez houblonnée, avec de la céréale en arrière-plan. En bouche, explosion de houblon de type fruité, agrumé. Fin désaltérante. Bonne ipa,

Appearance: clear pale to medium amber with two fat fingers of growing rocky ivory head, excellent retention and chunky lacing. (5/5) Aroma: caramel malt, resiny pine, citrus and floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (3/5) I was probably a bit harsh on this when I rated this last November, as part of a flight - though, it really is slightly disappointing, in a sense. The thing is, it’s a very traditional-style A/IPA (don’t ask me why it’s not considered a DIPA!) in that the fairly heavy bitterness is very much supported by an equally heavy (if not more so) caramel maltiness. I mean, this thing is only two months old, but the malt is already dominating. It’s fine for what it is, and I have little doubt it was among the best that 2009 had to offer, but there are far more interesting implementations of the style out there now. (14/20)

Typical Sierra Nevada bottle but no information about the malts, hops and drinktemperature in detail. A cloudy amber beer with a nice cream-colored head, smell is light Belgian yeast, light malty, body is medium, soft carbonation, texture oily, finish long, bitterness is dominated, (I have 0.355l bottle with batch 03916 A1P 02:52 and PKGD 02/17/16 1017) I don’t feel the fruits and so I will try again this beer.

Smell: tobacco, malty, caramel, pine resin. Taste: bitter citrus, light carbonation, zesty. Finish: grapefruit rind, very dry, dominant bitterness. (bottled 01/06/16, tasted 04/12/16)
