COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Wow -- can you say "over-hopped"? This Extra IPA goes overboard with the hop aroma and flavor, nearly negating any malty tones in the beer. But is that a bad thing? Not in this case. The bitter citrus hops are like a depth charge and combined with a moderate carbonation -- it’s an all-hands-on-deck experience that makes one of the best commercially-available beers. This isn’t an IPA for landlubbers; its in-your-face experience and high alcohol (7.2%) will take you to Davey Jones’ Locker rather quickly if you’re not careful.

Aquilo (537) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUL 31, 2014
This is a fine looking amber ale with a big foamy head. Aroma is fruity and floral, like apricots and honeysuckle. The flavor is a sharp contrast from the soft pleasant aroma, sharply and mouth-puckeringly bitter and astringent. On the whole, it works well together, and is yet another surprisingly good offering from Sierra Nevada.

Bottle 35cl. Beautiful orange with an off white head. Aroma is full of hop, pine tree and citrus. Nice full bodied IPA, high carbonized. Lengthy bitter finish.

355ml Bottle into a glass. A champion Imperial Pale Ale. Textbook Citra hops attitude and mellow caramel malts on the nose. Honey golden color with a tenacious head. Bitter, fizzy and velvety up front. Honey fruit flavors followed by light malt foundation rally to a Citra-hop finish. A definitive IPA, good body and flavor balance, great for those who want a stronger flavor. Fantastic for hop lovers.

This one is a classic. As far as widely distributed extra IPAs go, torpedo is a top notch brew, to be sure.

Copper in color with thick white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass aromas of pine grapefruit and caramel hoppy flavor that is not overwhelming and perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness and citrus an all around great ipa from a great brewery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer has a nice hop aroma but doesn't overpower. The beer is slightly cloudy with a nice head which clings to the outside of the glass. This beer tastes amazing it's bitter and sweet at the same time and leaves your pallet ready for more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear copper orange with a thick, foamy, amber head . Aromas of pine, grapefruit, orange, and caramel. Flavor is bitter pine, grapefruit, light orange, caramel and light bread notes. Medium bodied, smooth with a slightly dry and bitter finish.

From bottle. Deep amber golden color. Aroma is caramel, pine, and tropical citrus. Taste is sweet orange, guava, grapefruit, pine, caramel. Quite hop assertive, but the caramel malt really balances the bitterness well.

Bottle - pours bright amber with thick off white head. Nose of hops, pine, malt. Taste is a hop bomb balanced with syrupy malt. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
