The lacing is strong and thick. The aroma is strong on the hops. It is very bitter on first taste and never really smooths out but after a few sips and as the palate starts to evolve a slight malt backbone comes out. A very impressive selection from Sierra, especially for a hop head.

Som sig bör har de bryggt ett öl på källklar kärlek och den renaste passion. Beskan är vänlig men bestämd och lotsar en genom Torpedos berusande vackra flora av aromer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2010 355 mL bottle. A lovely copper-brown with a medium-sized, rocky, beige head. Big resiny aroma with a little sharp citrus underneath. Hop flavour and bitterness hits early. The flavour remains through the middle, but the bitterness is temporarily is overtaken by a brown sugar sweetness from the malt. In the end, the bitterness returns with a vengeance, and all else falls by the wayside. Sierra did well to give this beer a decent body without amping up the ABV. A nice beer and an excellent value for under two bucks. MikeKeller (67), Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottle from Systembolaget. Orange coloured beer with a white head. Strong hoppyness in aroma and taste, clearly recognizable Sierra Nevada house flavor present here. A bit of cat piss too. Medium body. Not a bad IPA but surely not a very memorable one. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Outstanding. Ultra piney, sappy, and deep woods delicious. Hoppy enough for Bigfoot and tasty enough for the Queen of England. Sierra Nevada ...does it again! Nena (192), West Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Orange with a large white head that took a while to fall. Left lacing along my glass. Has a slightly citrus and pine American hop character with a little grassiness. Malt flavor is light with a little caramel. Very nice, available, and affordable as IPAs go. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Bottle. Pours clear orange amber with a foamy white head that lasts a while. Hoppy nose has notes of caramel, pine, orange, grapefruit and spearmint. Flavour is also hoppy but has a stronger malt backbone; the citrus and pine are still present but there is very little sweetness and the minty/herbal notes are more prominent. Mouthfeel is smooth with a slight sharpness, medium carbonation and a long nicely bitter finish. Overall a very good IPA which manages to be both aggressive and easy drinking. If this were more readily available in my neighbourhood, I would drink it often. bluevegie (2233), Perth, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Farily clear orangey copper body with a short head that did hang around. Slightly sweet aroma, hints of honey, a little bit of pine but some caramel as well. Taste is fairly bitter at first but gets fairly easy to drink, mainly notice the hops in most of the taste though the malt supports well.
