3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2011 Bottle. Poured a reddish-orange that was a bit hazy with a medium sized off white rocky head that had very nice retention which allowed for some fair lacing. The aroma had a heavy dose of hops, a light grain malt and a horse blanket yeast scent with a nice citrus note that stood out rather well. It tasted moderately bitter of hops in the beginning and finished with a nice pronounced malty-bitter flavor that had a nice hint of citrus at the end, with the flavor only lasting a short time. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and watery yet dry in texture with a very nice carbonation. Overall a very nice IPA that had a well balanced hop-citrus flavor working for it. I have to say I kind of enjoyed this one and I am not even a hop lover.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Strong, sweet aroma, but not overpowering. Beautiful dark, almost ruby colour. Sweet taste that quickly gives way to a more savoury malt taste....you are then left with a super bitter after taste. Licking one’s lips gives a sweet taste. So well balanced and quite simply one of the best IPAs out there.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells nice, sweet malt and some citrus/pine predominate in the aroma. Nothing too overwhelming or complex. Hazy golden color with a long lasting white head. Tastes very well balanced, upfront juicy hop flavors (peach, lemon), finish with a piney bitterness and a light caramel malt. Contrary to the nose which isn’t necessarily too exciting, this has delicious flavors lurking inisde. Medium bodied and average carbonation. Very well made IPA.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear light amber with a massive pillowy, creamy thick off-white head. Smells of deeply piney, resinous hop - so piney it’s almost minty/herbal - with background lightly spiced malt. Taste starts out with malt and piney hop, finishes on a big bitter resinous dry note. Body is very oily but smooth. Soft carbonation. Surprisingly drinkable given how bitter it is. Good beer, especially if you like heavy pine needle hoppiness.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of my favorite ipa's. A nice floral aroma. A taste that is not overly bitter. But still has sufficient grapefruit and peach notes. Now I stop writing and buy myself another!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 0.355l. Clear orange amber color with medium creamy off-white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of citrus, orange peel, peach, piney and resin hops. Tastes very sweet caramel and rich fruity syrup, but hops kick-off suddenly, then you can’t get rid of harsh astringency in your mouth. Bitterness is really heavy, but still not so pleasant as in many other US IPA’s. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. I’m having mixed emotions with this IPA. There are many better for my taste, although I’m a hop fanatic...

Pint can. Pours amber/ orange with an off-white head. Malt, citrus and piney hops in the taste and aroma. Great balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Top notch IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Fuller’s brewery shop, amber-brown with a thick off-white head, nose is resin and aniseed plus a little peach and orange, assertively yet earthily bitter at first over a lightly toffee and marmalade malty body, becoming citrus bitter in the finish. A bit too gassy, otherwise excellent - like so many American brews...
