COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sierra Nevada uses malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. Two-row pale, crystal 40, chocolate and smoked malts give it a malty complexity. Challenger hops in the boil add balancing bitterness, while more Challengers and some Goldings give just enough hop flavor in the finish to balance all that malt.

Brownish red pour from bottle with small white head. Aroma is coffee and emergency room waiting area. Taste is coffee, sugar, cocoa and nuts. Lightly bitter, slightly funky finish. Decent, but not SNís best work.

Pours brown with an off-white head. Flavor is malt sweetness with light floral hops. Meh.

Thin white head, clear deep brown body, nutty brown sugar sweet malt nose, flavor is initially malty sweetness and then the bitter dry finish with some mild roast and big mouthfeel just finishes it right up. Is it just me, or has Sierra Nevada really stepped up their game in terms of new beers in the recent history?

Pours a rich brown color with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is nutty, toasty, chocolate, brown sugar, and nice floral hops. Flavor is caramel, toast, grain, roast, chocolate, nutty, and a nice bitter floral finish.

12oz bottle, purchased at Bottle Barn. Pours a deep, dark, but clear amber color (or a very deep bronze); tall, small-bubbled, light-tan head with great retention and lacing; really nice pour on this, per usual (Sierra Nevada has nothing if not good packaging practices...). Very nondescript aroma on this one: just hints of a toasty and roasted maltiness, a basic hop character that seems slightly minty, like spearmint; very quiet, very boring. Medium body; moderate carbonation; light creaminess and no alcohol showing; significantly more character than the aroma, but still not all that much, honestly: that minty hop character plays out much stronger than in the aroma, alongside a mild smoked malt character and relaxed cola notes; honestly, it seems like Sierra Nevada forgot to put the flavor and aroma in this beer: nicely minty hop character in the mouth, but thatís about it. Pleasant mouthfeel, as always from SN packaged beer, but this just doesnít have enough to it to hold my interest; even simple beers donít need to be this resigned. Very quiet. Medium finish of light smokiness, a lingering mintiness, and some nice toasty notes rolling out eventually.

This was a nice and thick brown ale with a good bit of nuttiness to it. I didnt like it too much but it wasnt a bad beer. Would like to drink this next to a fire in Autumn not the summer...

I love this beer! Dark brown with a small tan head. Coffee and roasted barley aroma. Not much mouth feel and a bit on the dry side. Excellent balance with the hop and malt. Clean dry finish.

Mahogany colored beer with a nice tan head. Aroma of coffee, and chocolate. The taste is this awesome blend of oatmeal, subtle coffee, caramel, and a nutty aftertaste. Very easy drinking. This is one of those beers you really could "drink all day". Highly recommended to dark beer fans.

Really nice deep caramel look with a slightly smokey taste - thankfully not nutty just features the malt
