4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. What a nice sexy pour to start my football Sunday. Deep mahogoney with a blustery, poofy head. Nice mellow autumnal aroma. This drinks with the smoothness required for a mass market beer, yet delivers a nice little nutty/woodsy kiss to the schmacker. Quality as always from SNBC. (#3986, 9/19/2010)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
9/18/10. 12oz bottle. Clear amber/brown pour with a fluffy tan head that lasts. Sweet, nutty, caramel aroma with a hint of smoke. Roasted malt up front with a dash of coffee and smoke followed by sweet caramel and earthy hop bitterness. Not bad!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma is somewhat lighter than I was expecting but it does have some caramel, toasted malt, earth, leaves, and a touch of dirty dishwater. The appearance is medium brown with a large head. The taste is like the aroma with bitter up front and a nutty finish. The palate is average for the style. Overall this is a good session beer but there is something not right for a brown ale.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Medium dark body with light tan head poured from a bottle. A little bit of a sweet roasted malt aroma. Alright taste fairly semi sweet chocolate beginninglasting dry roasted finish, with an odd nice lasting moutfeel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 2010. A ruby/deep amber pour with a smallish tan head. A roasty caramel maltiness, light toffee, and a touch of lemony yeastiness in the aroma. Medium-bodied and kinda creamy here and there. Roasted caramel maltiness upfront taste-wise. Cocoa, some nuttiness, and a hint of toasted pumpernickel follow. Bitter black coffee and some sour lemon at the end. A very subtle smokiness is present throughout. Not too bad for the style.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours deep brown with nice ruby edges. Only a light roasted aroma. Flavor is roasted malt with just a nice balanced flavor and clean finish. Another nice beer from sierra Nevada. Not a killer brew just straight up good quality beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle into tulip. Pours a light brown with small white head. Not much to the aroma a slight hint of dark roasted malts. Mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation. Flavor is the key to this beer, roasty, nutty, and a tad of smoke to it. Great beer for the fall weather.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark brown pour with red traces and a fluffy tan head. The nose is light chocolate malt with mild notes of floral hops. The malty taste is mildly sweet with medium body and a somewhat creamy texture. The finish is dry and roasted with some slight bitterness.
