COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sierra Nevada uses malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. Two-row pale, crystal 40, chocolate and smoked malts give it a malty complexity. Challenger hops in the boil add balancing bitterness, while more Challengers and some Goldings give just enough hop flavor in the finish to balance all that malt.

I love this beer! Dark brown with a small tan head. Coffee and roasted barley aroma. Not much mouth feel and a bit on the dry side. Excellent balance with the hop and malt. Clean dry finish.

Bottle 33cl@home. Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma of coffee and malts. Sweet taste with roasted malts. Nothing special but a nice brown ale.

Bottle. Pours an amber-brown color with an off-white head. A surprising citrusy, hoppy smell on pour mixed w/ malts. Has a nice balance b/w the malts and hops. Light to medium bodied. A little more subtle in bitterness that a standard pale ale. Refreshing. Nice for a change.

From bottle. Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Aroma is lots of toasted, roasted notes. Taste follows with roasted malt and chew nuttiness. Good brown ale!

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear dark brown color with ruby hints and a 3 finger soapy light tan head. Good lacing. Smell: Burnt malt with just a hint of caramel. Taste: Smoky roasted malt up front followed by sweet caramel in the middle and mildly bitter hops at the finish. Aftertaste is both smoky and bitter. Flavor, like the aroma, is a bit subdued. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a high amount of carbonation. Tingles a little on the tongue. Drinkability: Good drinkability. You could knock back a few of these without any trouble. Overall: Solid beer overall and a good representation of the style. Very solid choice for a crisp autumn day.

Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Clean crystal malt aroma. Crisp on the tongue with a malty finish. Nice but not my favorite. Tastes like an amped up Newcastle.

Poured a 12oz. bottle into a mug. The color is a clear dark brown with a reddish hue. There a nice large, two fingers of brownish foamy head ans some nice lacing. The smell is a little hoppy with a nice sweet malt undertone. Some nice toffee flavor with a little of butterscotch and a slight touch of peanut butter. The taste is a little roasty with a bit of bitterness. It has a nice nutty flavor that was not too strong but just right. The is a nice maple flavor in the background and even has the slight chocolate flavor. The feel is pretty smooth with a medium body and is well balanced with the right amount of bitterness. A fantastic fall, beer this may be my favorite brown ale

Bottle. Deep brown color with a lively tan head. Light roasted malt aroma with caramel and faint bitter hops in the background. Flavor is more towards the bitter side but there is enough of a nutty, earthy flavor to provide balance. Carbonated perfectly. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle. Dark transparent brown pour with a small, off-white head. Aroma has sugar, caramel, malt, some sourness, nuts and a few spices. The taste has a lasting sweetness with lots of sugar, caramel, syrup and not much on the bitterness-scale. A little on the sweet side for me, but a nice brown ale.
