Draft. Clear dark brown body with no head. Aroma is sweet, raisin, honey, some vanilla. Taste is sweet, raisin, some Bourbon, sour, light alcohol warming. Sticky full body, minimal carbonation.

Served on draft at Capital Alehouse Downtown. Pours a hazy red color with nearly no head. Aroma of bourbon, toffee, brown sugar, and sweet strawberries, reminiscent of Twizzlers candy. The taste is bourbon, vanilla, toffee and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied.

Pouring at the Night of the Barrels on the Friday night of EBF 2012. Pours a deep ruby tinged brown with a thin beige head. Sweet syrup, and bourbon on the nose, vanilla nad wood. Medium bodied. Bourbon and sweetness, milky smooth. Sweet bourbon, dark fruit, big and malty. Rich and viscous with a long bourbon filled finish. Preferred this one to the brandy, but both were rather good.

On draft at Lupulin Reunion 2012 at RFD DC. The Grossmen told us that it was aged in Heaven Hill barrels. Pours an opaque black with some spitty, beige head. Nose of clay, oats, vanilla, white sugar, cookies, light cherry. Flavor is sweet, oatmeal, cookies, milk chocolate, malt balls, roasted barley. Full bodied, dry finish.

On tap at Churchkey in DC during the Sierra Nevada 55-tap takeover. Served in a snifter. Pours a moderate brown color with a short light tan head that quickly faded away. The nose brings nice, smooth bourbon with a touch of vanilla and oak. Behind that is a bit of dark fruit. The bourbon is quite smooth through the nose and flavor, though it does sort of take over the base beer a bit. While mostly bourbon, there is a bit of quad remaining; it’s a nice touch in the background, but I would have liked it to remain a bit more. Body is medium and quite smooth. Probably the best beer I was able to try at the takeover.

Murky brown pour with one finger of tan head. Rich nose, barrel shows with some vanilla. Dominated by bourbon, oak and vanilla are the primary flavors. Some spicy/phenolic character and dark fruits. Medium body and warming finish.

Sampled at the First Inaugural Raleigh Rare and Vintage Beer Festival. Semi hazy brown pour with slight ring of tan head. I definitely liked this a lot more than the previous raters. Great bourbony boozy nose with cherry notes. Flavor is even more bourbon, sweet and smooth, woody, vanilla, almost a syrupy sweetness to it. Very big alcohol heat to it. Very awesome.

On draught at the Thirsty Monk. Into the snifter pours a deep mahogany with eggshell ring fringes. Malty coconut aromas dominate. Flavors show coconut rum, bourbon, fruity esters, caramel, dark cola extracts and vanilla. The ABV is well-hidden, but diacetyl butters come through in the finish. Soft carbonation and a silky smooth mouthfeel make for a rich sipping nightcap. Gotta admit, I do enjoy this.... Very much.

Brown pour with a thin white head. Chemical booze and caramel peat with oaken tannins and corn. Low carbonation with a bourbon like finish.

Draft at Tops tempe az. Nose is extremely hot with bourbon-unpleasant. Taste is the same beer mixed with with bourbon. Not well done and 180 from subtle very thin body. What is this?
