Tap at RNH. Pours a deep dark brown nearing pitch black with a dark tan head- lasting. Aroma is massive fresh american woody oak, vanilla, then chocolate, light roast, and pretty big woody smoke- jameson and irish whiskey notes from the big american wood. Flavor is more wood, vanilla, whiskey, big smoke, meaty burnt wood, light ash, big caramel and molasses sweetness chocolate and light roast with more vanilla in the end. Smooth and woody and alcohol well hidden. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at cah downtown unplugged festival. Near balck pour with ring of brown head. Sweet alcohol and honey and bourbon and soy sauce. This is very well done and not abrasive or harsh like many other wood aged beers. Very good stuff.

Tap at RnH. Flimsy, bourbon vanilla aroma, light prune, sherry. Sweet, caramel, fenugreek in the flavor. Lip-smacking sweetness. Not too bad; the barrel character is restrained.
