bikesandbeers (419), San Diego, California, USA Feb 11, 2008 On draft at O’Brien’s Pub during their anniversary week barrel aged night, shared with Goldtwins, DarkElf, Wetherl, and others. I didn’t see any head on the beer, which had been siting on the table for a while when i walked in ight from work. the black beer had a roasty choclate aroma. I tasted choclate with some cofee and bits of barrel. a nice smotth beer, but didn’t blow me away.
swoopjones (1107), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 draft @ Blind Tiger Sierra Nevada Tasting. Pours a very black with nice long lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, wood, vanilla. Didnt gather too much whiskey. Taste was full of flavor-wood, vanill, chocolate, roastiness. Only thing lacking was more body otherwise a fine stout RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA May 31, 2008 Pours pitch black with a thick tan head. Hmmm. Flavor is odd. Too much wood and more than a fair portion of vanilla. Seems a bit out of balance here. Something just isn’t meshing. Feel is fine, but it doesn’t matter. We’re out of wack on this one IMO. Not really working for me. golubj (967), Redwood City, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 Draft at Spuyten Duyvil. Black pour with some light tan head. Aroma is wet wood. Flavor is standard stout cola and roasted malt, along with some vanilla and wood. The wood flavor in this beer is decent and not too overpowering, and it mostly makes up for the lack of other flavor. Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Apr 21, 2008 Draft at Spuyten. Flavor is thin chocolate milk. Some roastiness but not much else. Some vanilla comes from the wood flavor. jabrewing (11), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 27, 2008 Amazing beer. A hearty stout thats like drinking a chocolate cake. Please bottle this beer. FANTASTIC!
