COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
London Porter is an old style of beer that is slowly being revived by beer connoisseurs the world over. Its name derives from the working class men who worked as porters at the docks in London during the Industrial Revolution and is made from 5 different malts, which gives the beer an incredible depth of flavour without a high level of alcohol.

Draught and Bottle. Ok this is actually better than the Marzen which was my old favorite. The malts are well roasted and the hopping is well done. The only thing letting this down is the watery body...but in the hot equatorial summer a thin bodied beer is not a bad thing. Well done. Something to look forward to when I visit again.

Bottle at Osteria Gigiri. Clear amber color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel and toast. Taste is sweet caramel syrup on toast. More like a bockbier.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of metal, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes fo malt, wet hay, and rotten fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of nimbleprop. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Caramellish nose with a slightly tart edge. Medium body, again dominated by caramel, the sourness gets more prominent in the flavour - clearly infected. No roast, no bitterness, no Porter. 190412
